He's not funny as old davre was, but he's still funny. And I'm pretty sure transgenders find him just as funny as any other gender, BUT there's whole bunch of actors out there and they aren't making as many movies these days. That being said, the crowd work was likely setup.

I've played a few shows with Dave and he might still recognize me, which is awesome. Saying that to say, when he'd be hanging out in the green room, which was usually like 25-40 people partying in various little groups as parties will be... when he starts talking everyone just stops and listens. Not like a pin drop type uncomfortable to walk in and out type thing, but seriously everyone just kind of leans in to check the stories which are much like the ones on stage. Never seen anything like it.

The narrative of the life of Fredrick Douglas was a transformative book for me, I grew up less then an hour away from where he lived in his early years and yet had only ever heard the name and never been taught about the man himself, his amazing story and beautiful words impacted me so deeply that I then soent over a year working doing a personal project tracking a bunch of mentioned peoples modern relatives and trying to map out a trajectory for those mentioned and how their lineages have turned out, I think it’d be interesting to see how some families that owned slaves are still wealthy and prosperous and others are likely living in trailer parks and the like while the same Could be said for many of the slaves mentioned, idk it was just fascinating to me to track the lineages like what if you discovered a descendant of a slave is now the boss or owner of a company that the descendant of their family’s owner works at.. a beautiful way to illustrate both the sadness and depravity of many aspects of society as well as the wonderful aspects as well
