These comments are a joke! Bautista fought a dude with 44 pro fights for his first ever MMA fight. If this wasn't a famous guy yall would be saying he adjusted well and needs to work on his stand up. 🙄 i bet none of you would get in that ring so stop hating.
Bautista is built differently than most people; he has some of the proportionally-widest shoulders I've ever seen on a man, the perfect frame to hang a WHOLE lotta muscle on. I'm happy for him finding fame as an actor. He's less-likely to retire crippled, that way.

Don’t forget. He started MMA late even after having so many surgeries during his WWE career. At this time, he was 43 and was fighting against a fighter who had over 40 fights. Regardless if his opponent lost majority of those fights, a fight is a fight. He was more used to the environment than Batista. You can say Batista is used to big crowds too but the difference is, Batista fought in WWE which is staged combat. Pretty sure nobody would get nervous in a staged fight. You turn up and play your role. Fake punches and slams. Getting clipped around the head for real will rush adrenaline and that is now down to you to stay composed. Yes, Batista got caught. His mind went blank for a bit but he got through it and took him and and won. No shame here. Honestly respect him for this. Don’t compare him to Brock Lesnar, Ken Shamrock or Bobby Lashley who actually trained for years and fought. Batista’s first ever real fight and he did well despite being 43.
@Hipas_Account
4 ай бұрын
He actually got into Professional Wrestling pretty late in years too which has its toll, and although the punches are meant to not make contact, like the commentators said, even wrestling has its fair share of more or less accidental live rounds. wether the slams are "fake", yeah not designed to hurt, as in specifically designed NOT to hurt, but gravity does not forgive. Wrestling in front of a large crowd does provide its own butterflies, but a totally different beast compared to actually stepping in being ready for a potential asswhooping.

You all have no idea of the real meaning of talent. Talent does not consist of fighting. Talent consists of singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument. Otherwise it would have been called "Mixed Talents Of Martial Arts"
If you are commenting criticizing Bautista, you just don’t understand. That guy he’s fighting had over 40 professional fights and weighed 300 POUNDS. That is a big man throwing big punches. And he said he wasn’t even the guy he was supposed to fight. Training is one thing, but you can’t replicate that. He got rocked at first. He took all those punches, but kept his composure, got a take down and finished it up with ground and pound. That is impressive for a heavyweight debut bout.

And come on with fighting that guy, he was shoe in to win, a simp exposition fight made out to be something grander, lol... many MMA groups always do that. Pitting a weaker opponent against a stronger fighter? "He had over 30 professional fights, and 36 cheese burgers before the fight...the dude was destined to lose. His cardiovascular was shit going up the steps, lol. cheap lowbrow fight, period.
Props to Dave for putting himself out there. Being muscular does not equate to having real fighting skillz. Dave showed how much more work he needs to be a serious MMA fighter. Brock had a skillset other than just being a massive man chiseled from stone. But still a lot of people are afraid to attempt so many things.. and Dave at least manned up and put himself out there. Man, the dumbest people post on youtube. He's a middle-aged man in his debut fight, yes, he gets a "can". But that can would demolish you in moments. What is it with humans thinking they are really good at things they don't do? Is it because people fall into patterns in their life, and forget how much they suck when they do new things? Is it because they watch movies, and their limited noggin power can't differentiate between scripted and unscripted events?

Dave's biggest mistake in this fight was not going for a takedown sooner. His stand-up just wasn't ready at that point for a guy with 44 MMA fights. Lucero was clearly a tomato-can, but a few times in that fight, Dave ate some pretty big shots and could've potentially been knocked out. Had Batista taken the fight to the ground immediately, he would've ended the fight alot sooner and avoided some of those heavy head shots he received earlier on. Glad Dave decided not to pursue MMA any further after his less than stellar performance. But a win is a win, nice work Dave!

A typical analysis from behind a keyboard. Just because he din't try doesn;t mean he easily could. You gotta be in a position and distance to make a takedown attempt as well as when you are trying to hit someone in a face.

Viva Bautista. Good show and I really miss him on WWE.Bring him back
This is actually laudable. The step up to the real fighting in MMA coming from the fake world of entertainment wrestling is something. He probably knows he can't stand up to the actual Champions and all that. What is there anyway because he just doesn't want to be acting anymore.
I wanna' see Dave do his infamous WWE move "BATISTA BOMB" 😂
No offence but he should stay in the movies 😅

Respect to batista not much technique but alot of heart and he learned and adapted quickly he could be a great fighter with training
I like him in movies
Meanwhile Drax completing side quests
Dave Bautista is a good man I think. Now I first time seen him in real fight, not in the movies. Maybe, he is too sensitive for this type of work, not agressive. I think so, but maybe he is not a hardcore fighter, but he is a really good actor and man. Wish him all the best/

People are criticizing him for debuting at 43, from a non martial arts background. Remember, most of the tough guys started before 30 & had top notch training.

Yeah i have no idea why they're judging him like he could havw gone pro lol he's 43 he was smart tp pick an easy opponent and he overcame a major experience and age gap partially because of the massive differnce in athleticism between tbe two
Dave is such a genuine dude! I love it! LOL
considering what he is risking putting himself out there doing this...definite respect for him..he definitely needs to work on his punching and defence to punching..cause the next one will not go so easily

I'm a keyboard 🎹 warrior 😅 and after just having 1 round with black belt in judo and 1 pro MMA fighter - was not able to perform RNC with hooks in and seat belt on and finish properly positioned lock of shoulder in no-Gi and had sore muscles for 3 days (1 days could not pick-up a 🖊️ from the floor 😅). Talking is easy - risking health is definitely different...

I just found out that Dave Batista was 44 in this MMA fight. That's right, mid 40s. Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar was 30 years old when he was in the UFC. And at 30 years old, he struggled a lot with 43-year-old Randy Couture that weighed 210 lbs and was 5'11" (again, while Brock was 30, 285 lbs cutting weight, and with a massive reach advantage). People will pretend like Lesnar is massively superior to Batista in MMA. But when you really find out when they made their MMA debuts (Batista was 44 here, and Lesnar was 29 years old in his very first MMA fight), you start to understand it's more of an age issue.

Lesnar is massively superior to Batista in MMA. Personally I think admitting that fact does not take anything away from Batista. Personally I think he made a very good impression for somebody who had (I assume) not that much of fighting training in early life and debuted at 44.

Well done, my man. They weren't supposed to give you the best, and you held up well. All the haters will say what they say, but all they do is watch. Glass Jaws happen, especially when you aren't used to those punches. I don't see you ever being a champion in this sport but you're living the dream and nobody can take these experiences from you. Dunkin Donuts Center seems appropriate for their choice of opponent: Vince Lucero - Dunkin Donuts' biggest fan.
2 things; One, I can't believe they mentioned his WWE titles like it was a legitimate achievement and two, the guy they put in there with him is where the "tomato can" expression came from. I hope no one paid to see this.
Win, lose or draw, I feel sportsmanship is the most important thing to have in any competition. Even though these two showed signs of being mad at each other for something we couldn't see, in the end both men showed good sportsmanship and we all know there are times when that isn't easy to do. I give them both big credit for staying professional. I don't think the fight should have been stopped but I'm only a fan so my opinion doesn't count. God bless both men and all of our brothers and sisters throughout the universe.
