True, but the thing is we don't execute people for that. Especially without a trial and a guilty verdict. And resisting arrest, is dumb and shouldn't be done, but also nobody should be summarily executed for it. It seems crazy to me to think you could mistake a gun for a taser, I've held both, they feel very different. However, I think we all know how sometimes we will be looking for our phone or keys while they're literally in our hand. So I think it is possible that she didnt realize the weight and shape difference in her hand in the moment. But even being a genuine mistake, her mistake caused a death that should not have happened so she needs held accountable. If I'm driving and I accidentally run a red light and kill someone, I didnt mean to do it but I'll still be held accountable for it. It's sad all around. Duante lost his life, and the officer has to live with the fact she took a life.. accident or not she needs to be held accountable. He was resisting and had a warrant, but she doesnt get a free pass for accidentally killing him over that.

Cute story. He had expired plates. When you run the plates it then tells you about the registered owner. The owner had a warrant out for his arrest for aggravated burglary with an unregistered weapon. He then skipped his court hearing. He knew He was going to go to prison. That obviously doesn't mean he deserved to die. That was a tragic accident. Take a step back and objectively look at the information available. He didn't get pulled over for air fresheners....

Accountability, a very important word that no longer means anything in the United States of America. You will live a happier better life if you own up to your mistakes as a adult. Think before you act, stay calm and think before you make life changing decisions that are not of your own existence. To explain: This you man would of been better of just owning his mistakes, instead it got him kill. (May he rest in peace) no matter how guilty you have no right to judge. The Police Officer should of stayed calm, maybe explained the situation better to the young man. Work with the young men not against him. It would of been easier if they pulled him out of the car and handcuffed him then explained the situation to the young man. The police officer misjudged the situation and should ofdone everything to avoid the worst possible outcome. Now she has to answer for her bad choices. I think if they let him go he would of been caught and arrested eventually at some point, or life would of came and collected on it's debts with the young man.

You listened to one side of a story. Now understand a) his tags were expired, which is why he was pulled over, b) he had a warrant for his arrest, which is why they wanted him out of the car, c) he fought the officers resisting arrest, got back in the car and tried to drive off which is when he was shot mistakenly rather than tazzed. Totally the officers fault for shooting him, but he greatly contributed to the situation. Btw, the warrant was out for his arrest because he robbed and choked someone at gun point. Was caught with a gun AGAIN by cops. This kid was no innocent bystander. His actions set himself up for confrontation with cops.
