    I never thought it to be about something Christian. For me "Heavy is the Crown" meant the weight of the responsibility as a leader. And that the song describes someone rising up to help his people out of the misery they are in right now. See them march like lambs to the slaughter/Toy soldiers => a land devastated and perhaps at war. I was never meant to drink that water => Someone who refuses to be pushed around and wants to take control. Never bow down and never falter => don't stray from your path no matter what the world throws at you. Fight of the demons => to struggle with ones inner problems while being responsible for so many people. They will remember me when I'm underground => People will remember what you do as a ruler good and bad things. At the same time the term "Heavy is the Crown" reminds you constantly of what it means to be leader. It is a burden and the world can always come crashing down.

    didnt think id not project but insert my insecurites on the internet well. at least im not to blame for my insecurites as emotionless as i am i hate how i mix up a soup of emotions malevolence with sadness it makes it into a strange feeling and i cant explain it. but i didnt know this band is chrsitian. interesting. because the guitar sounds at the start to me sounds depressing. and in the state of mind that i am i dont feel good at all everything about me is corrupt. as society more often doesnt seem to apppreciate the worth while working males and even the ones that arent nothing like me. doing something other than playing video games is what humans live for even the lazy ones will eventually find that out. its hard for me to move foward from the past when i dont get a push because i havent never. the crown of spikes that is a spiritual and emotional one lays heavy on me and i dont know how to remove it. all i can is say talk but never do anything. if only those spiritual chains were so easy to break and there it is nothing.

    Is this what he means by "toy soldiers...i was never meant to drink that water."?? To not give in to false doctrine. Something like that. Its one of the lines that I don't quite understand. Anything helps! Thanks

  • @AThousandHillsMusic

    @AThousandHillsMusic

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@SVUfannyc This vs Is Profound in its reference to Jesus and this is my opinion. "Never needed any reason to find deliverance." Jesus being perfectly God and sinless had no need for Deliverance himself. "Like a cancer running through my veins oh, its never gonna give in" Although he was "spotless and blameless" the cancer he felt was the foreknowledge of the FULL weight of God's wrath HE would bear for OUR Deliverance. "See em Marching Lambs to the slaughter (Jeremiah 51:40) Toy soldiers lined up on the altar" All human mankind, have atonement of our sins we are meant to pay for and calvary is the altar stone. We are all stained in sin and not spotless sacrifices to be brought to the altar in sacrifice. Toy soldiers is just a reference in my opinion of the line mankind would make in futility to earn our own atonement / absolution for our sin. "I was never meant to drink that water" Again Jesus Being fully perfect and Gods son drank the cup meant for us in obedience to God's Will (Matthew 26:42 42He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." Isaiah 53:5 5But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

    When things were at their very worst: 2 Suns, Cross in the sky, 2 comets will collide = don`t be afraid - repent, accept Lord`s Hand of Mercy. The first sign - the Earth will spin faster. The second sign concerns the sun, which will loom larger, brighter and begin to spin. Scientists will say it was a global illusion. Beaware - Jesus will never walk in flesh again. After WW3 - rise of the “ man of peace“ from the East = Antichrist - the most powerful, popular, charismatic and influential leader of all time. Many miracles will be attributed to him. He will imitate Jesus in every conceivable way. Don`t trust „pope“ Francis = the False Prophet - will seem to rise from the dead - will unite all Christian Churches and all Religions as one. One World Religion = the seat of the Antichrist. Benedict XVI is the last true pope - will be accused of a crime of which he is totally innocent. - banking collapse was deliberately masterminded by the Antichrist - Antichrist will step in and create a false peace in the state of Israel by joining them with palestine in an unlikely alliance. - „He will recite extracts from My Teachings, which he will passionately proclaim from every secular stage in the world, until people sit up and take notice of him.“ The Book of Truth mdmlastprophet.com/the-schism-in-my-church-will-be-broken-into-different-stages/ mdmlastprophet.com/they-will-say-that-i-was-married-they-will-say-that-i-was-simply-a-prophet/ mdmlastprophet.com/arab-uprising-will-spark-global-unrest-italy-will-trigger-fall-out/

    I have always liked Chris Daughtrys voice and sound. Great song keep it coming your music got me through the loss of my mom and the destruction of my past relationship. This band is so underrated and needs more air time on the radio. I would love to see them make more music that's like their first album. The song Gone Too Soon really hit home the 1st time I heard it. My little brother died in a terrible car accident that caught fire and every time I hear that song it reminds me of him. He was a mere 17 and had alot to offer this world. I do thank God for the short time I had with him. My only biological sibling and my best friend.

    For people asking why Daughtry went total back to heavy rock, this is a great choice. He does not need major label to make him second guess on what he has to make anymore. For people who don’t know, Daughtry has 5 albums so far. His first three are rock and some heavy rock, but his 4th and 5th are all too pop. one of the reasons why Daughtry went pop in latest albums is due to pressure to put out top 40 hits. I remember he said (I forgot what interview) he said that when radios stopped playing songs by bands with guitars, that’s what he did to put out popish songs to make sure they stay relevant. Unfortunately, he started to second guess what he was making. Now that he left RCA, his former major label, He is now independent and has full control of what music he wants to make. One of the song is this, return to heavy rock songs. I am so happy Daughtry is back doing heavy rock songs again, even with mie modernization, but it still fall under heavy rock type. This is the Daughtry I have waited so long for a while now.

    Interesting lyrics and interesting time (Easter) for this song to come out. For me personally many of the lyrics are connected to the Christian worldview and the life and death of Jesus Christ. Interpretation: "heavy is the crown...with the weight of the world crashing" like Jesus bore the weight of all sin, "everything will fade away... nothing in this world is meant to stay" meaning there is an afterlife. Jesus is even nowadays remembered for how he lived ("and they'll remember me when I'm underground") The song could also refer to a personal struggle with living a good life while other forces are trying to prevent you from succeeding ("to fight all the demons"... "never falter... never bow down") which is hard ("heavy is the crown"). And the protagonist thinks he'll be remembered when he's dead ("underground").

    This song plays like a 2021 hymn --- there are heavy Biblical undertones - The crown can refer to many things - having power over others - as a King - or referencing to the Crucification of Jesus. For me, this is a powerful song ---- the video is visually interesting in that the melted, glossy gold slowly morphs from liquid into a sold gold crown.

    I mean it's an interesting and direct link. Being a non-Christian myself, i really enjoy how it can break down into the commonality of life itself rather than the mandatory religious persona that we tend to naturally drift towards. Of course i really just enjoy his singing but if i had to quickly sum it up i think i would have to state that it could be about the challenges of life and living during the world of covid and how that can bring out certain issues and demons of everyday life....this side or that, truth or lies, so on so forth that was been forced out of us due to this isolated nature.

    *Lyrics* Never needed any reason to find deliverance Like a cancer running through my veins, oh, it's never gonna give in See them march like lambs to the slaughter Toy soldiers line up on the altar I was never meant to drink that water They'll remember me, when I'm underground Heavy is the crown Never pause, never let them bleed you out Are they still standing when they try to bring the castle down I'll never bow down Heavy is the crown When the weight of the world crashing, pushing you closer to the edge (Closer to the edge) You find a way to get a little bit stronger, to fight off the demons Yeah, well See them march like lambs to the slaughter Toy soldiers line up on the altar, I'll rise, hell or high water You'll remember me, when I'm underground Heavy is the crown Never pause, never let them bleed you out Are they still standing when they try to bring the castle down I'll never bow down Heavy is the crown Everything will fade away Well, the love that's in this world is meant to stay Heavy is the crown Never pause, never let them bleed you out Are they still standing when they try to bring the castle down And I'll never bow down Heavy is the crown (heavy is the crown, heavy is the crown, oh) Heavy is the crown (heavy is the crown, heavy is the crown oh) (Heavy is the crown, heavy is the crown oh) Heavy is the crown (heavy is the crown, heavy is the crown oh) (Heavy is the crown, heavy is the crown oh) (Heavy is the crown) Heavy is the crown

    Pretty good song with (AT LONG LAST 😁😁😁) a clear and strong old-school Daughtry vibe! If the whole song was as heavy as the final part (from 02:29 to 03:57) or it had a guitar solo, it would be epic. However, it makes me feel very optimistic about their forthcoming album! I am really anticipating even rockier and even more kickass songs! Keep rocking, Chris! 🎸🥁🎵🎧
