After leaving RCA records, Daughtry is now independent and have total control of music they wanted to pursue. It is the right path. I mean look at his latest two songs, World on Fire and now this, Heavy is The Crown. They have reverted back to heavy rock, after two very poppish latest albums.

That is why i felt he was catering to housewives!! OMG this is what i imagined he would be since Idol!!! Now I will listen to all he puts out! I got the first two Daughtry Albums, but was disappointed he wasn't this rocker! Love it! Thank you for sharing that, now I understand. I hate labels!

@@carrieanne5415 Exactly. I remember Daughtry said that during those latest two albums, he was pressured to release songs that could stay in top 40 charts. I am not sure if RCA played a role in this but I fee the environment there could play a huge Role. He also said that after radio stopped playing songs that is guitar led, he started be pressured on should I change the sound? It got to the point he started second guessing himself. Now that he is out he is full control of what he wants without having to feel pressured whether it stays on chart or not

@@alvinbuana4628 I am almost certain RCA would have played a roll in it. Hell back in the '80s the labels were even telling musicians how to dress. Example, Anne and Nancy WIlson. Nancy is still scarred over it (because of the weight gain at the time)

This isn't heavy. It is a pop vocal ballad. All edges clean. Formulaic. Overused imagery in lyrics. Scarf.

Going independent was one of the best career decisions this band has made

Daughtry is super underrated and I don't get why. Their music is just phenomenal 🤩

Boy did American Idol get it wrong. He’s been a winner from the beginning.Best male vocalist.

Now Daughtry doesn’t have to second guess whatever he release anymore. He has total control over the music he wants

I was not a fan of the last album. Baptised was fantastic and a nice change, but Cage To Rattle was unbearably generic and sub par compared to the previous four albums. So glad they’re back to this sort of sound again.

I'm so glad he left that label too!! I'm in love with with his music again! He was my number 1 artist for his first 3 albums and when he got to the 4th and 5th I was lost on him because it wasn't the same. But these 2 new songs have brought me back to that feeling that has been missing. I honestly can't wait for the album to come out!

It is so refreshing to hear Chris break away from his label and have the freedom to rock once again. The world needs more “real” emotional filled music and less fluffy emotionless songs. Real music is a powerful thing. LOVE THIS!!

His voice is just....HOT DAMN!!!!

The band is finally out from under the iron fist of RCA records! Its time to rock!

Just used it on my show as an opener for an independent baseball team interview on the Olympic Peninsula. I was goosebumps in the first 8 seconds.

Crazy thing...I listened to this video yesterday. I was kinda distracted; multitasking. I initially thought I had clicked on the lyric video. Only half-way through the song did I realise it was the live video. Thing is, I didn't even notice a difference. The studio version and the live performance sound almost exactly alike. Daughtry is one powerful vocalist & performer. I've been a fan since high school (~10years ago). One of the best decisions I've ever made!!!

'World On Fire' got me so excited to see what else comes from Daughtry. Feels like he / they are making music with real passion behind it again. Can't wait to see this all live!

I always wanted to see them, spent 8 years in the Army and every time I came home from the deployment while sitting in C-17 was listening "home". Long story short just went to a Daughtry concert in Vegas. Chris is so humble and his voice is amazing. You need to hear them live. The new album is amazing too. Super happy I went to see them. Thank you for that experience.

We found Daughtry's first cd ( that was mine) in the garage on a box that had been there probably since we moved in 14 years ago lol she started listening to it and fell in love lol Then my 12 yr old did too! It was the perfect first concert for them 🙂 Keep giving your daughter good music to listen to 🙂 Most of the stuff these days is crap lol Take care 🙂
