Datsun 240z Build - Episode 7 - 280Z Gas tank into a 240Z - Panchos Garage

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The gasoline tank episode! I finally got the parts I needed for the install about a week or so ago. Installed a 280z gas tank into a 240z. Got it installed, but still got more to do.

Old Z's around here in Louisiana are rare. My 78 doesn't get that sort of love, so that's one lucky car you got there. Cool videos!

Making good progress there. I can see how making one change can really ripple thru your build. If you have that old fuel sender hang on to it, they are pretty rare and have the OE thermistor that will allow the low fuel warning light to work.

Don't forget you have to put your wiring for the fuel system and an important ground for the car before the tank is finally installed. Once installed you cannot reach the grounding point.

Keep it going buddy. I just started my 280z project and thinking about filming mine as well. I really want air suspension since I plan on doing a rocket bunny kit but I am running into major road blocks with finding a bolt on. I might just cut up a set of s14 air suspension kit i have and try to adapt it.

Film it! I think filming my build is one of the best things I did. Not only do I hold myself accountable to post 1 video per week at minimum and getting me to work on the car, but also the great comments from viewers like yourself keep me going.

Hi can you tell me where you had your gas tank rebuild. Or if anyone else suggest a reliable shop that can do it. I have 280z tank that needs rebuilding. No holes just needs the inside and painted like the one on this video. It looks nice. Thanks.

+Walt Ace I'm not sure. Could be the gauge, could be the float, could be the wiring between those. Check those out to see if they're in good working order and go from there.
