Thank you for sharing even though it was hard for you. The thing with groups like this is you are in a safe space and can share your feelings without having to explain the hearing part and move to the important parts. Reminds me of poem, "You have to be Deaf to understand" Once again know you are not only one walking this road. We are here for you, sharing works in both directions. C.S. Lewis said it well in book, Four Loves. Partial quote...“There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal."

Thank you for sharing. Just be up front. If people sense that you’re awkward, they will feel awkward too. You, in turn, might perceive that as rejection. Wishing you all the best.

Great question! Make sure they can see your lips when speaking with them. We try to be proactive with removing the barriers to hearing upfront which helps us to maintain a good conversation.
