At the age of 27 I went for a job interview. I met the owner of the business who was a bit older than me and quite handsome. After a bit of talk about things he just came out with "how come you're not married" to which I responded instantaneously "I don't know, just lucky I suppose" 😂 it made him laugh and I got a 2nd interview. I didn't take the job.

I like Mr. Reggie! He seems like Life has taught him somethings & now he has some life lessons under his belt. Enjoy!

My dating skills retired long ago, so I'm not sure if it's just me. It seems like he's using 'trigger phrases and words' that are designed to peak the interest of most single women with minor or adult children. He also skillfully (on the surface) sidestepped why he and his last fiance 'mutually' broke up, but made sure to say she was a "great woman". I see this as a trick; if she was so great, why the breakup? He's too smooth (for me) and already pushing a "dating" agenda. It's like he talks in the code that he thinks will get him laid. Of course I could be way too cynical and wrong. If I were in the same situation, I'd go out for fun but take his words with a grain of salt.

I'm agreeing with your take here - especially breaking up during the engagement? What happened that it got so far as an engagement that y'all had to call it quits? That's my burning question for that guy lol. It's like he's rushing things - what's the rush fella? LOL...

Yes! I feel the same as you in my 40s. I just watch from afar. I am always leery of people who are almost too nice and seem to have rehearsed the right things to say. The other red flag is not taking any accountability for why the relationship ended. Because usually it's two-sided. However, I'm probably the wrong one to ask 'cause I'm too cynical.
