    There's only 2 choices...a) Honor your commitments like a man or b) Admit your mistake and get out. Period. Nobody should need to live with a mistake forever. But marriage is also hard. The fact that because this dude is now more successful and attractive to women has more to do with him than his wife. He settled...didn't think he could do better, not he wants to level up. And it sounds like she did similar...didn't think she could do better and settled with him. Regardless, honor your F'n commitment or get out. There's NO honor, respect and anything close to resembling being a man when you devalue your word and cheat. You want another woman, great....end it with this one before starting another hedonistic, impulsive short sighted mistake. Perhaps her anger is knowing he's ready to hop anything that moves. Most men would mount anything with an orifical. It's just built into our DNA. An attractive woman will always be attractive. Marriage doesn't change that. But there's a difference between what you WANT to do, and what you DO. I want to rob a bank and be a millionaire...but I don't do it. The dude that wrote this letter is still a child...like a 4 year old boy that just found his 'dingy' and wants to play with it constantly. Time to grow up sir. Women have been saddled with children throughout history...the leftovers of men's fleeting desires. It's not a great outcome for them, but women step up and do what's needed. This dude needs to grow some seeds and start acting like a man.

    I'm 32. I didn't even start to truly feel "mature" until I landed my current job at 28. I didn't have much sense of direction before that, but now I have a much better grasp on life as both a person and in my professional life. I'm not in a relationship now, but for me anything south of five years is pushing it. I wouldn't have any problems dating older women, but ideally something not too drastic. Maybe that's a bit too specific, but hopefully you catch my drift.

  • @shimsokshim2995

    @shimsokshim2995

    My first thought was that this probably makes her a criminal, so she was/is probably one of two things: a really manipulative 30/35-year-old, or a REALLY mentally stunted individual who can't see how what she did was wrong. And yeah, let's not even get into grooming... the man still sounds like he has free will, but jesus christ is there probably a lot we don't know. And don't really want to know either.

    Age doesn't necessarily correlate to maturity. When I was 16 I started banging a married 40 year old, and I married her when I was 19. Despite her being 24 years my senior I was the more mature one in that relationship. While sometimes such relationships are transactional, other times who you develope a connection to has little to do with age. Some can look past the physical to see the person behind it, some can't. I think there is a lot of value in May - December relationships. Life is about learning and growing and what it a 20 year old going to teach another 20 year old? How to roll your eyes while you sigh? Today most 20 year olds don't know which end of the broom to hold, let alone how to use it. I think it's good for someone in their 20's to be with someone in their 40's or 50's, and then when they get in their late 30's or 40's to be with someone in their 20's. It's natural for the older to guide the younger (plus matching up the energy of a 20 year old with the experience and knowledge of a 40-50 year old is a recipe for super duper extra happy bedroom time). Good luck with your dude sneezes. I assume you're trying to assert dominance?

    Taking the first one that will love you is a bad idea. Homie did not think this one through. If he didn’t think the age gap would be an issue then, he should have thought it would be an issue sooner or later. Now he’s put both himself and his wife in an unfair situation.

    ROFL dude is like; I was really insecure and in a bad place when I was younger, I found an older and more mature woman who helped develop me, boost my self-esteem, and turn me into an attractive man- should I cheat on her? She even said that she's open to him fooling around with other women as long as he communicates with her first. Dude got the golden ticket and isn't sure if he should cash in. How man men in this country would feel like they hit the proverbial jackpot if their wife continued to perform her wifely duties and be a good mother to their children all while allowing their husband to have some side bitches? That being said, it doesn't really sound like a sustainable long-term plan imo. At some point she's going to feel emotionally and physically neglected if she doesn't already. idk, the fact that he's looking to bail after she sunk all this time into developing him is kinda shitty.

They should not pay for his bad decisions, he should be the one to pay for those. This is why people should think straight before getting into something, because most of the times you won't be able to get out, not with clean conscience ofc, unless that person is a psicopath 😂

    The majority of the time people get annoyed with their partner because they THINK there's something better for them. At that point everything bothers you. I'm sure this woman has been this way from the time he met her. The only difference is now he is more confident in himself. Just because she looks good to you doesn't mean she's good for you. Based on what was said your wife has helped you level up mentally and physically. Don't fuck around and find out.

    Meh, there are plenty of successful age gap relationship stories, it's just the negative one's seem to be the only one's people focus on. As long as both parties are consenting adults than it shouldn't be an issue. I've hooked up with plenty of women that were older than myself and would have no problem marrying someone older if we were compatible. That being said, at 18 I wold've happily hooked up with a hot 30 year old woman but no way in hell would I have married her. I wouldn't have married anyone at that age tbh, that was like the furthest thing from my mind.

    Lots to say so I'll give props 1st to the Lady. BDMM- you force me to laugh and smile. I appreciate that. The next... its a boring tale- Dated a woman who was 5 years younger than me...(her=20)... (and I taught as a young grad at the Univ she attended in an adjacent class (=I could help her through the course but she wasn't a direct report, which I did, but also grew very fond of her sexy self... I also had to fail friends so... I didn't do Bed for Bs in class type noise) but then also dated a woman 6 years older than me (her=30s). The first, the 21 year old, knew who the hell she was, what she was going to do, and it was The Best relationship because it was 2 years of first dates and one night stands... no pressure. We knew our lives would diverge. Smartest damn woman I've ever loved. Friends to this day. The other woman after, 6 years older, also badass but train wreck, yeah, no, ended in carnage. The younger lass was so much damn older than me mentally and schooled me. The older ex... was wicked smart but had a LOT of damage she didn't address and just passed it on to mates. @BigDaddyMoMo1 the problem is he is fighting himself. He is trying to be a "good man" that today's society says he should be but the "Modern Good Man" goes against masculinity and then we have situations like this where men are trapped. Now if he acts on his desires like this old woman acted on hers he will get fucked. Even if he does everything right this woman can still destroy him. Also most of history proves that the age gape between couples works when the man is older. Even modern women prefer older men. Teens died in wars throughout history but to marry a 18 years old modern day is creepy. Even tho an 18 yrs old modern-day is way more intelligent than most people in history period.

    I would’ve counselled the guy to not marry at 18 but having done so it’s now a different story. If there wasn’t the age gap, but everything else was the same - would you really suggest that a guy who still loves his wife get a divorce because he finds other women attractive and wants to cheat? I dunno, I think the age gap thing warped this situation which is quite simple. Don’t get married at 18 - but if you do, if you love your partner try and make it work and keep it in your pants. I’m going to sound like an old man here (which I’m not, I’m in my 30s) but this is why the divorce rate is so high. First sign of an issue and the resolution is to cut and run. Don’t get me wrong, if he was unhappy and didn’t love her anymore, easy decision - end it for the good of both of you. But his only unhappiness seems to be that he can’t bang other women and that she isn’t a barrel of laughs when she is PMS’ing. If people got divorced for those reasons, there wouldn’t be heterosexual marriages…

    Her claim that people should not get married when they are 18 because they do not have the life experience yet is not based in logic. That EXCUSE has been pushed on modern women by the feminist left. "Don't get married and have kids until you are in your 30s!" That's a dumb plan for success. Nature doesn't obey the dictates of wokeness. I get the point about "maturity" but the truth is that being "immature" at 18 for both men and women is a modern artificial construction. For most of human history, if you were 18 and you didn't have your sh*t together as far as being able to take care of yourself and handle your own affairs by age 18 you were screwed. This artificial extended adolescence allowed and even encouraged by society needs to die a well-deserved death.

    A nice rule of thumb formula for finding the lower age limit of your potential romantic partner is half your age + 7. So for example if you're 30 the lowest age your partner could be is 22. If the solution is greater than your age then that is a no go, if the solution is lower than 18 then that is a no go.
