If the groom-to-be drinks salty Turkish coffee without grimacing, it means "I like everything my wife prepares". I think this is one of the most beautiful compliments in Turkish culture haha.
This was the sweetest video I've seen all day! I love it...on to part two!!
Oooo! This was so interesting!! I think it's so cool how our cultures are so different and they sometimes change over time! 😀

What a cool video topic!! I don't know much about Turkey, so this was cool to watch :) Lol, I like the coffee tradition! Def a great way to see how courteous the guy is, haha! The party with henna sounds like a lot of fun too :) Both parents agreeing on the marriage is similar to how the U.S. does things too! I can totally understand why it must be emotional to say good bye to your fam and embark on a new journey with your husband :)

In henna party, as far as I know it is for the bride only but boys get included i suppose nowadays. I'm 20 and Turkish guy :) you forgot to explain the most important part in henna night that is the crowd should sing a song while turning around the bride with candles in them hands(bride sits at a chair with henna in her hands and covered head with the dress's part.) and she should cry because she is leaving her family and stuff. The most popular song for henna night is "kınayı getir". Great video and content I really enjoyed to watch your point of view on Turkish wedding/dating culture! Peace

Yes I forget that! How stupid of me haha! It's a really nice tradition and I didn't know she had to cry because she is leaving her family. Thank you I learned something again😄Thank you for watching!

@@MyPrettyEverything her friends and family members(all females mostly) turn around her while singing these kind of emotional folk songs to make her cry. So she'll release, crying is good indeed haha. I like your content, you're most welcome have a good night!!

When you go to the girl's family to ask for the girl, sometimes the coffee contains spices such as pepper as well as salt, and it tastes really bad. But you will drink it, there is no other way. Kına night was actually a form of wedding held according to the traditions of the old Turkish shamanist and Göktengri belief period. A marriage certificate is given only to women. After all, women are the other of the house, the foundation of the house

Is your husband Muslim? Did you have to convert to Islam to marry your husband? This was super interesting, thank you! Many blessings for your marriage

If the man is a Muslim like an Arab, I don't know if he is conservative, his life is Islam, etc., but if he is an average (not very religious) nationalist Muslim man in Turkey, things will progress according to Turkish culture. There is such a thing as the ceremony of asking for a girl. The boy's family and the boy come to the girl's house with a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates. While the man's family and the girl's family are talking in the living room, the girl is cooking Turkish coffee in the kitchen. She does/doesn't add salt to the man's coffee. Afterwards, coffee is drunk, and then the old man (usually the father) asks the girl's father whether the reason for the visit is clear, that the girl and the boy love each other, that the parents will support this, and whether the girl will allow the boy to marry. The girl's father says he gives permission, so they get engaged, rings etc.

While asking for the daughter, a religious person is mentioned in the section "We want your daughter for our son, according to the words of the Prophet, the command of Allah." Apart from that, the marriage part is not religious.
I have a boyfriend and his from Turkish anakara and I meet him on Instagram lol 😂
Thats not the tradition. tradition orginaly. old times arranged marriage happens. girl will see the boy first time when the he came with his parrents and when she make the coffe if she liked him she put suger in coffe if she didnt like him girl put the salt to masseg the boy she doesnt approve. but now girls do it just to be annoying....
