Sounds like it didn’t end too badly! Not everyone can say they were able to maintain a friendship after being in a romantic relationship together

I've dated the "hey, you can do better" best friend twice. Both times ended poorly, they both got me to leave a toxic relationship only to start being toxic. My husband now was the "I'm happy for you two you deserve someone perfect" and was going to take a step back to not get himself hurt or be a nuisance to me, but when that relationship ended he took his shot, thankfully.

My husband now was my friend throughout my last relationship and wanted to date me before I got into it but he took too long to actually ask me out on a formal date or anything. He said it was one of the number one things he regret. When I told him I'd be going to visit Texas to meet up with my bf at the time (who was cheating on me the entire 6 month relationship, fun!) he said "I think you should do what feels right". Even though he really wanted to tell me not to go. When that relationship ended in a dumpster fire, he took me out, bought me a new outfit and asked if we could start dating but of course we could take it slow. Now he's the best person I've ever been with in every single way who tells me he will love until all the stars explode. T_T Life really goes in random directions.
