As a woman who has quit dating apps, I will tell my story. I was ignored a lot, ghosted, lied to, and married men wouldn't leave me alone. It's tough for women on there too. I can’t even get a decent conversation out of the average ones and the ones that do talk a little, they stop replying for no reason. I’ve threw in the towel on taking dating seriously in my mid 20’s. I have given up on dating sites as well. To your point they are a waste of time and not worth the money. Although I received a few responses here and there, these specific women were not what I was looking for holistically. Additionally, I was told my profiles were intimidating because of my education and career which didn't seem to make sense to me. Who doesn't want someone that has their priorities online (Men and Women). So I would agree, it's probably better to meet someone at Walmart, the Gym etc. It's terrible online. Save your money.

I stopped using dating apps a year ago

I am comming to the same conclusion. I have paid for the platinum to see if the results were better: well, they were... In 2 months I've got more than 100 matches... And I do my swipes with pickness. I dont do the "like everyone" ... I have good openers and 80% of women respond to my msgs; BUT EVEN WITH ALL THAT its f hard... The time one have to spend is absurd. Girls tend to disappear and flake for little to no reason because, well, they dont really know you until you meet them in person and to get to this point its a lot of grind.

I agree, you swipe aimlessly, and most of the time the people you meet are not anyone you'd pick in real life.

I was on that Plenty of Fish site. I had a photo up there of me which only had 21 likes in ten months. I did get three messages from women but they were dumb messages asking why I was wearing sunglasses in my photo. No mention of my actual profile, likes, or hobbies or work. Just the sunglasses. I got one message from one grey haired woman, she said she was 56 but I think more like 66. And 56 still too old for me. She was also very obese and told me unless I put a photo up of me not wearing sunglasses then I could forget her ever wanting to date me. I thought WTF. And when I did eventually put my photo up without sunglasses, I never got another like. So it was something about that photo the women didn't like as well. Talk about shallow. Ugly women judging guys. What a nerve.

Never I'm meeting women on dating sites again. The last woman I talked to on the site was two weeks ago. She liked me first we started to talking to each other. About a week later, she start pulling back. I've decided to leave her alone for 3 days. On Thursday, I messaged her saying hope she had a good day, she left me on read and responded for 4 hours later. Friday, she sent me her last text saying she wasn't ready to go out, because she's an important things to do, I told her that's cool I understand she left me on read again. So I decided to let her go and move on.

Hell yeah . I’m the type if im looking for just sex, I’m going to get straight to the point . When Craigslist was popping , I didn’t need dating apps . I can get what i want and go back to studying . Those days of $40 BJ was clutch asf . Convenient, to the point, saving time and $. Could get sucked up M-F and spend less than you would courting a chick that MIGHT give you some. Now I’m not into that even . I value a relationship IF that happens in the real world, organically.

I was using dating sites before they were apps for about 10 years. Let me tell you, this sounds insane now, but back in 2009, women used to send guys messages first. There was one time I had 28 messages after 2 days - no fake profiles. They weren't hot women but they were attractive but average. None of them were fat. None had tattoos. None had kids and they were around my age. Step forward to 2023, the dating scene is totally dead. It's as dead as a dodo. Now I'm older, but so are the women. But I don't get any messages, no replies, and obviously no dates. It took me a long while to let it sink in the online dating scene was dead for the average guy. I was in denial. But now I know it's dead. I was on five apps for two years. Not one message, no replies and obviously no dates.

You are nothing to them on these dating apps. NOTHING! If you are like me, you look for common ground to build off of for a conversation. If they present themselves with no interest in little to nothing, as most of them do, you might ask them what kind of things interest them or what they like to do for enjoyment. Logically, this will give you information how take the lead in dating activities that will make her happy. All of this energy you give is considered devoid of substance, boring, emotionally draining, and annoying. A few sexually explicit approach from a few unwise men will be the excuse women use for their negative attitude that motivates them to preface thier profiles defensive, aggressive, rude, and hostile statements. I learned all of this in one week and see that it's BS and waste of time.

Agreed, saying apps are a waste of time. In the game of mating and dating, not only is it easier for men, it’s more beneficial. A man can live multiple lives because he has the time frame to find his mate. He can have children for a longer time than a woman can. Women have a lot more to lose and men truly win in the end.

My problem with dating apps ( I ONLY use FB Dating which I feel is the best ) is that I match and message so many women that I get burnt out and end up just ghosting . Hollering at 10 women at the same time will turn out to a dead end when I match with the next 10 women I’m texting . And repeat . It’s basically a dopamine hit .
