I think they use the same inage because they are dropshipping, if thats the case you can usually find the best price at AliExpress, sometimes even the original product.

To be fair, that camera/mirror thing did two positive things. 1. Put a nice face to the voice of this channel and 2. Showed a perfectly nice summer day in England. Love this channel!!!

20181110 Could "Brushing" be describing a way of brushing the patina of corruption off what they are really up to? This isn't the first video I've seen where someone was trying to understand why they were sent items they didn't order. Amazon.com is polluted with mis labeled and horribly inaccurately constructed postings. I saw one where a replacement part (handlebars and top tube with accessories pre-installed) is advertised as being an entire bicycle. It's listed as a "model choice" in a list of 5 models two of which are out of stock and others that look too good to be true claiming $500-$700 quality at a sub $150 price.

@@Ilikeminecraft57 I can actually answer that one from experience. When I became old enough to drive, I was the son of a US Air Force officer, living in Japan. Japan, like Great Britain, drives on the wrong... err, left... side of the road. I spent nearly two years blissfully driving on the left side, until my family was transferred back stateside, exactly fifty years ago tomorrow. All I can say is that the Summer of 1970 was very 'interesting'. For the first few weeks I constantly found myself drifting across the dividing line and turning into oncoming traffic at intersections. It culminated with me finding myself going up the wrong side of Interstate 65 in Mobile, Alabama one night. Luckily, I just pulled over and waited for a cop to escort me to the next exit. He wasn't nasty about it at all. He told me that it happens a lot more often than you'd think, mostly with drivers from the English Commonwealth countries. He made a suggestion that I followed up on, find myself a good driving school and unlearn the past 18 months. I did, and had no issues after that.

Oh my god, the camera built into this thing is the exact same one built into the cheap dashcam my dad bought. It even plays the same dumb jingle!

The battery on those devices are usually low on capacity. They are built to be used while plugged to the 12v car outlet. The reason of the battery is just to save the last video before you cut the power when turning the car off. The battery also has low capacity to reduce the damage if the battery gets exposed to high temperatures. As you know, this device is made to be strapped to your rearview mirror. In summer it will receive direct sunlight and also the car will be very hot. A high battery capacity could lead it do a dangerous situation.

Yes, it's a for a left-hand drive. A right-hand drive version would have the camera on the right. However this whitelabled product doesn't have a right-hand driver version.

I actually had the dashcam advertised, my parents got it for me as a gift a while ago. It's "rexing" brand, and exactly the same as the one you ordered. It was decent, but huge, and it _never_ retained any footage it recorded. I got run off the road on an interstate about two years ago, and when I went to look at the dashcam it had "file corrupted" listed all over the storage card, and the only uncorrupted footage was from the first test drive I took with it. Ironic.

I reckon they only have a capacitor in there that holds enough of a charge to save the last video when the power conks out (which is possible when it's connected to the battery in your car if it gets into an accident). Also, Li-Ion batteries do not like being kept in high temperatures, which is also very probable if you keep your car parked outdoors in the sun, and will explode.

I've been watching Atomic for a while now and knew the area he filmed was my home city, but I've only just realised he probably literally lives down the road from me, I've been on that road so many times, such a small world!

I recognised the splash screen & jingle instantly - exactly the same as a dashcam I bought on E-Bay many years ago for the princely sum of £2.00 (that's including postage from Budapest). The battery life & resolution are also identical. I now use it as a rear cam, with my trusty old GoPro Hero serving as a dashcam.

I once bought a Cenoco action cam, from a local reputable (well, it was anyway) online store. I was surprised how cheaply you could get a simple 1080p action cam. Then I was surprised it only recorded at 480p despite having FULL HD and 1080p printed all over the packaging and even on the camera itself. The "1080p" on the camera came right off when scratched at slightly. I used to believe a store actually checked what it was selling. Guess I was wrong, as this blatant scam had made it onto the site.

If you buy something you see advertised on Facebook or Instagram, you DESERVE to be scammed. My 2 cents.

The other thing I've seen people do is they will steal credit cards, ship the product(s) to someone else's house nearby, and they go steal the packages off the porch.

This world is sad when there is literally millions of people out there that base their entire existence on scamming people out of their hard earned money...

The camera has an internal battery but it's only function is to put power into the camera to save the data to the card when switching off the ignition it's not designed to power the camera for longer than 2 minutes. Looks like you have had a scam camera, but all the dash cams work the same you need to hard wire the camera to the cig socket.

@9600GTMAN It worked with a spare cable when connected to USB power, but I did not have a long enough spare cable to use it in the car. Sending it back to China to get a refund is often nearly as expensive as the price of the item - this is part of what makes the scam effective for the scammers.

I tend to use fake names when ordering online. It allows me to track orders, and minimises chances of ID theft. In my experience, PayPal do not insist on delivery name/address matching card name/address. Downside is that the post office will refuse to hand over the item if you do not have some ID in the fake name. This is true, even if you can prove the address is yours.

Look at the definition - WISH. So you wish the product to be true but is actually not. I have checked a Jacket advertised as £7 but at checkout jumped to £25.

wish is actually safe. wish is a middle man for sellers. if you get scammed WISH will refund your money and TAKE the money from the sellers account or whatever it is they do nothing to do with you. IE I trust wish. not that I won't get bullcrap but wish will protect you and refund your money. at least in my experience.

dont try to contact the seller. a scammer wont reply. contact wish through the app. I have gotten a few scummy orders and they were very fast to make it right with a full refund. @@sabssabs

If you want to see a scam site, go to Geek. 100% of the items I received were not as advertised.

Thanks for doing this so people know these are legit scams.

I know this is an old video but you are truly one of the best people on here, you buy fake products and make videos on them to make sure no one buys them, and you also make your scam baiting videos which wastes their time helping others.

Wow that is beyond creepy. I'm disturbed simply when I get spammed with emails from a company who stole my address off a mailing list, I couldn't imagine actually receiving mail like that.

Ah! why am I not surprised... It's raining in the UK... smh

no . they are a platform not the scammers. its like punishing the road because the drivers are bad. legally they can do nothing . you will need to sue every single scammer indevidually.

The blueness of it is by design, I think. My mom's rearview has a setting that shifts the mirrors to a blue mode for glare reduction at night (filters out some of the orange/yellow light).

I bought a similar item like that for $10, it was 720p, it reflects everything in blue, battery will not charge.o

These dash cams (even non scam ones) are not meant to run on battery. They're meant to stay plugged in all the time. The small battery is only to provide power when the car is off, or the 12v power is off. Most of them have a motion sensor feature that will automatically start recording when it senses motion. Like if someone were to hit or vandalize your car while it's parked overnight. That's basically all the battery is meant for.

Interesting about "brushing" I hadn't heard of that. At least _someone_ gets something for free.

I have something to ask, I'm interested in doing some scambaiting,(inspired by your videos of course), but I'm wondering if there is an important technique to it, that will keep the scammers on hold. Could you recommend a guide or something that can help me through the process? Thanks. Also, love your vids, great quality and original content.

Dash cams are designed to be run on the car adapter . Even the high end ones have a battery very small designed to run the device for 2-3 minutes

Wow. I love how lying is just a part of our culture now.

The issue with bad sunglasses is that they can actually damage your eyes. The darkened glass makes your pupils open up wider so you are still able to see properly. With bad sunglasses though, the problem is that the UV filter is either really bad or non existent, so you end up exposing your eyes to more UV light instead of protecting them.

A buddy of mine bought that exact dashcam...rear view mirror cam really, and he didn't like it so he gave it to me. I've been using it for over a year and aside from regular memory card probs, the trash battery that i just keep plugged in, and the fact the memory card had to be some special card i wasn't familiar with but was able to find, it's worked out pretty good.

The entire time you were driving: “WATCH OUT! YOU’RE ON THE WRONG SIDE!” 😂

I always say that when I'm over there. For some reason, my brain can process seeing a car "without a driver" but it blows my mind when I see a dog or someone reading the newspaper in the "driver's seat". One time was a guy asleep and drooling down the window. LOL.
