Something every cyclist should adhere to. As a push bike rider, I too get out of the way of cars (even if it means riding off the road entirely)… it’s called self-preservation, and in the case of push bikes, it’s also about not being a Sh*t-c*nt. Always assume the cars haven’t seen you.

The was one in a DC video which was in WA and had their mobile clearly all over it. I sent a text message, with time and link to the video and the message "bad advertisement for your business" and doubt I was the only one.

its a metering light, one can per lane per green (light goes green, one car goes, light goes red. repeat). It supposedly helps alleviate traffic on the highway on ramps at rush hour by limiting the number of cars using the ramp at once. Its SUPPOSED to change that fast. I can see the advantage, but I still think its a stupid idea

​@@Finitefox Only issue is most of them are time based like these ones, rather than any sort of sensor, so you effectively have to drive through a red light because it's changed back to red before you start moving. I've only ever driven through one of those sets of lights while they've been active, and I didn't even stop. I just rolled slowly so I'd cross the line roughly one light cycle after the car in front crossed the line. Then parked on the motorway with everyone else.

In 10:03 I kept thinking I was supposed to be watching the pedestrians. Had to skip back three times.

I'm going to guess the GPS data comes from a phone app, and he switched to a different app (maybe calling 000 to report the car location since the sirens weren't around anymore). If the app only had GPS permission of "while using the app" and not background permission, it would have got stuck on the last set of data.

Cycliq Fly 12 cycling light/cam $450 Aussie. It's push bike footage, you can see the rear wheel shadow at 0:18. Might be an option for cars, I agree the footage is unreal, but there's no windscreen which is most of the battle with dash cams.

It's been that way for a while with pedestrians, even when they're not on their phones, a lot just blindingly walk onto the road without looking left or right and assume traffic is going to stop. Both old and young.
