Yes, Filipinos are strong on feeling.. in fact, "pakiramdam" or feeling the other person is something highly valued in the culture while being "manhid" or clueless about other people's feelings is negative. Tagalog songs (and certainly also the songs in other Filipino languages but I only can speak of Tagalog) are so strong on feeling because there are words for so many "shades" of feeling, a bit like the French have many words for color shades (beige, turquoise etc.). That's why English translations of Tagalog songs are hard to do well and at times sound corny.
