I know so many islands and lean tos in the Adirondack mountains(the largest state park in the country)I would be set. Winters would be tough but I have snowshoes and I've yet to see a walker try to walk through 3 foot of snow or cross a frozen lake, they would be slipping all over the ice.

I do miss this troublesome Daryl from Season 1 through 2. But I like the current Daryl much more. Compared to his arrogant cocky younger self, Daryl certainly has matured and has a better understanding of life and people. Love this character.

Though i agree modern Daryl is more suited for survival with his new found talents and cutting edge though process he still puts on less of a show compared to his younger counterpart which means hes not as interesting to watch anymore, maybe if he had more lines, more flip outs, just more emotion displayed in general he would be more explosive to watch and would keep people guessing on what his next moves would be.

It's funny that when I saw Daryl for the first time, my main thought was "he'll be the villain of the group". Definitely debunked, and instead the villain was Shane, Ricks best friend. A great case of "expectations averted", I love twists like that. Nowadays he's the heart and soul of the show, definitely never saw that one coming.

I think its amazing how hothead or badass he was in the beginning and how he changed over the years. Seeing that character deveploment, maturity is amazing. He also became very emphatentic towards others which old Daryl lacked. Love the character writing.

See my favorite thing is that he didn’t change at all. People seem to miss that, he just held back his words because he was getting a larger view of how the world was going. Like the scene everyone hates with him putting an arrow in Morales brain? It was also connected with the fact in season 1 he was pissed tf off that bro just left with the groups gun and family and made their chances smaller because of it. And of course the episode with Beth where he talks about his past and why he is the way he is, and they burn down the old house they found together. Love the way they kept his character the same but had him mature in a different way

Daryl always had a sweet nature. He had to hide it because of the hurt neglect he felt even before the apocalypse. He used rage to build him up and survive, once he started to see a new soul family in the group he learned loyalty and friendship and even love. That's when the changing began

I kinda miss the early seasons. Where everything was about surviving from the zombies. Now its fight the saviors, fight the whisperers, fight the reapers, oh and I forgot to mention the governor. Ricks group has defeated every enemy they came upon. But at what cost. The Kingdom fell, hilltop fell, and Alexandria is barely holding its walls up. Really love this show I'd rate it 10/10 a very long but good show to watch. Its also kinda sad how the world went to shit and instead of people sticking together against the zombies they fight each other.

a shout to FRANK DARABONT for creating MERLE and DARYL DIXON. the two best breakout characters of THE WALKING DEAD.

Loved season 1-2 Daryl, still in Merle’s shadow

I still love Daryl to death and I understand how much events have changed him and made him quiet and mature...but I do miss this lil hothead so much 😅🥰

I almost forgot how hotblooded Daryl was and how much of a crybaby Carol was at the start of the series

I love the way everyone wants Shane back because of negan

Love these characters in series'. Who appears wild and loud initially but gradually phase out to be the calmer more sensible ones towards the end. Daryl from walking dead, Harrington from Stranger Things

Daryl and carol turned into totally different personalities . I love how they became into what they r in finale

I remember here, I hated him so much but now I think about him all day literally

God i love season 1 Daryl almost forgot how short tempered he was at the beginning.

Daryl is threatening someone with an ax yet Carol turns out to be the most dangerous person in the room.

Legit only Daryl and ccarol are still in the show from this entire group of like 11 people

Rick could surely use Shane right about now against Negan.

RIEL Shane would've been Negans first victim because he would've been such a threat... Actually come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if Shane joined Negans crew.

Shane would have been Negan’s first kill. He killed Abraham because he was the most confident person there. I believe Shane would have acted the same way. And even if Shane somehow found a way to survive, I believe his ‘hot headed’ nature would have gotten the group into a lot more trouble with Negan. In fact, I believe Shane would have started the ‘All Out War’ story arc with the Saviors long before season 8 started. Had this happened, the Kingdom nor the Hilltop would have been there to help stop Negan during certain points of the story. (If you recall, Rick’s group hadn’t befriended The Hilltop or The Kingdom at this point.) As far as I’m concerned, Shane would have been the ruin of our favorite group.
