Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I wanted to share with you the rich history and esteemed legacy of Darul Uloom Zakariyya in South Africa, where both my brother, Sheikh Yusuf (Imam of Hendon Masjid), and I completed our Hafiz studies between 1992 and 1996.
This esteemed institution is where Mufti Abdul Rahman Mangera (Founder of Zam Zam Academy and White Thread Institute) undertook his ifta course, under the guidance of South Africa's Grand Mufti, Mufti Radha ul Haq.
For decades, Qari Ayoob Essack, renowned as one of South Africa's greatest Qaris, has been a distinguished educator at Darul Uloom Zakariyya.
Alhamdulillah, this international Darul Uloom, established in the early 1980s, currently hosts 715 students from 56 different countries.
In the UK, over 40 Imams have graduated from this esteemed institution and are serving their communities.
Now, Darul Uloom Zakariyya requires financial assistance to support its numerous national and international students
Next week, two of their esteemed teachers, Hafiz Ebrahim Bhamjee and Ml Bilal Bathia (cousin of co-rector Hafiz Bashir Bathia), will be arriving in London to collect your generous donations of Zakat, Sadaqah, or Lillah.
Under the guidance of its rector, Ml Shabbir Salloojee, the institute continues its noble mission.
