Commissioned by the Dartmoor National Park Authority, 'Dartmoor, A Fair Deal for the Hills' was first screened at a conference on the future of hill farming in 2008. Filmed and narrated by Chris Chapman, it features contributions from John Waldon, South West Uplands Federation, Colin Abel, Chairman of the Dartmoor Forest Commoners' Association, Phil Coaker who farms at Runnage in Postbridge, Tony Richardson, Regional Director at the RSPB, Kevin Bishop, Chief Executive DNPA and Layland Branfield of Moorlands, currently the Vice-Chair of the Dartmoor Commoners' Council and a member of the Dartmoor Society's Executive Committee. Much of what is discussed is still relevant today.

Chris Chapman, a man who cares about our world, you can feel the passion for Mother Nature in his voice, give me his company to any politician.
The farming and the farmers are the single most important factor in preserving these areas, they’re the ones that understand it and have it bred in them, all the other authorities need to work around them and then the moors will survive happily.

Thank you for this Jim. I wholeheartedly agree. There is too much criticism being bandied about by certain people who should know better.
