This is why I love legends. A simple inconsistency of the blade length in the films was turned into a full explanation and function of a lightsaber.

Unfortunately, there are those who believe that creating lore to explain a film error to be a bad thing. I find this notion to be deeply flawed: A good writer in any franchise is able to work with the limitations of real life to enhance the overall quality of their work, while a bad writer will get rid of aspects of a larger story that would otherwise invalidate their personal ones.

Hmm I never knew that Vader's lightsaber and Luke's lightsaber were contradictions in of themselves. One has a Jedi design with a synthetic crystal, the other made of Sith design with a naturally grown crystal.

Well, this is quite the thorough analysis. I love it. As much as Darth Vader tried so hard to bury Anakin Skywalker forever, he couldn't forget his Jedi past. At least as far as the need for perfection is concerned. I can imagine you going through the weapons of Exar Kun, Asajj Ventress and Darth Nihl next.

The rest are definitely interesting, especially if it’s Obi-Wan’s third lightsaber as that was the basis for many students of Luke’s New Jedi Order, in particular the future Grand Master himself. I think Lumiya’s lightwhip is also a great choice because it is the most obscure and unique of its kind.

I was considering doing an examination of the inquisitorious saber, as it is a good representation of the inquisitors themselves.

I miss the old lightsaber crystal lore from Legends. The new Kyber crystal nonsense is convoluted. If lightasbers crystals are basically mood rings that change their color based on the personality and state of the Force within a Force wielder then why don't we see more diverse colors during the Geonosis arena battle? Considering how individuals are very diverse we should logically see multiple colors. Legends had a really good explanation why we only saw green and blue in the Geonosis arena. I prefer the simple lore behind crystals in Legends.

And people think the Kyber stuff makes more sense when in reality, it makes things more complicated than in the Expanded Universe where it was simpler. Another example of those who claimed the Expanded Universe was convoluted being hypocritical cause THEY THEMSELVES made the "Disney Canon" lore convoluted. Which can be used against them as an example of *projection* in the future.

@@whitephoenix4230 I agree with you wholeheartedly. This was actually one of the first things about the Disney variant of Star Wars that set me off. Everything about the EU explanation made sense in both the context of the Jedi and Sith thinking on crystal use/creation. I'm not even getting into the stupidity of what makes the color of each blade within the Disney verse.The way they retold the lightsaber lore was a big sign of things to come in terms of trying to fix something that was never broken.

While we can say Anakin was no battlemaster, he was definitely a weapons master, he created 3 weapons of war, and perfected it as Vader. Then again, he also beat duelists that could be considered battlemasters. Including the actual battlemasters, Cin Drallig.

In retrospect, after Darth Vader's cybernation; I am surprised that he did not look through the Jedi Temple Archives, learning something from the Sith artifacts of old. He had to retool his lightsaber style to compensate for his current lack of mobility. The styles Makashi (Form II) and Djem So (Form V), possibly combined with Shien (Form V) and Battlemaster's Nieman (Form 6) would work well with a curved hilt lightsaber. Since a natural crystal (such as a red Adegan Crystal) has less inertia/better handling for Makashi and a synthetic red Sith Crystal has more inertia/better handling for Djem So; wouldn't it make more sense to have two crystals with each one having its own blade length control and only one allowed to be on at a time. Also, if the less stable red crystal fails, there is always another blade to use. We should also keep in mind that Vader would actually have access to some Sith Artifacts such as Darth Bane's Weightless Curved Hilt Lightsaber and Exar Kun's unique Double-Bladed Lightsaber. Vader could either draw inspiration, or even choose to use one of these outright. Given Darth Vader's love of tinkering; I am very surprised that he did not do more work on making his armor better (more comfortable/allowing more agility and strength/no weak spots like the chest panel/granting virtual immunity to lightsaber blades, blaster and possibly even Force Lightning), especially given the access to the Empire's purse he would presumably have. Imagine Vader carrying a lightsaber and wearing armor made of Beskar (Mandalorian Iron). This would be a Vader that could remove the Emperor. It's also a pity that Disney didn't keep the synthetic Sith (and even some Jedi) crystals as just another possible source for a lightsaber crystal, along with the possibility for Darksiders to corrupt a Lightside-aligned crystal, or for Lightsiders to redeem a Darkside-alighed crystal. Obi-Wan's crystal furnace should still be a possibility.

Here are some of my ideas for your future vs series videos if your star wars associates haven't stole my star wars suggestions for vs videos. Here are the vs matches: Count Dooku(ROTS Era) vs Luke Skywalker(Mainly Dark empire era for you but if I maybe so bold to suggest for you to do Grand Luke Skywalker in Legends. I know it would take you awhile to research Grand Master Luke Skywalker in legends but it would be an interesting match up). Grand Master Luke Skywalker vs the leader of the order of 1 sith lord Darth Kryat(After his Resurrection.) It would be interesting to see these 2 power houses of force users and lightsaber duelists in their respective eras. Darth Sidious(at the height of his power) vs The leader of the order of 1 sith lord Darth Kryat(After his Resurrection.) It would be interesting to see another match with 2 of the power houses of force users and lightsaber duelists in their respective eras. Obi-wan(ROTS Era) vs Darth Vader(at the height of his power). The Negotiator vs the Betrayer of the Jedi Order. Oh just a side idea for you to think on could you possibly do a what if videos on a few characters like you discusses with your fellow Star wars associates. My 1st suggestion would be If Dooku had not follow his dark path he did with Darth Sidious. How would this effect the star wars galaxy? If Dooku Darth Maul Managed to Survive in lightsaber duel with Obi-wan(Not using the Clone wars version of Darth maul) and escape to return to his master and remain Darth Sidious apprentice? Would Darth Maul become a Far more powerful Sith Lord or remain just Darth Sidious errand boy to Darth Sidious and to the sith Cause?

All of these are pretty one sided and not that interesting. Grandmaster Luke > Dark Empire Palpatine > Reborn Krayt = ROTS Sidious (IMO) > Dark Empire Luke > ROTJ Vader > Count Dooku > ROTS Kenobi.

Thanks for uploading! I never knew you could emulate Dual-Phase adjustment, without the alignment of multiple crystals? It makes me wonder if the causal factor of Vader's use of this technique, against Old Ben, is Force Augmented. If so, this would suspect me to believe that Vader's combative focus, as well as his skill in the telekinetic manipulation of weapons, is a practice similar to Kreia's. I can imagine, you care little for my shitty suggestions, however that's not going to stop me from giving them. Vrook Lamar vs Jerec, or Jolee Bindo vs Atris? Kanan Jarrus vs Ferus Olin or Jax Pavan, seems ok. Yun vs Rosh Penin, or Zayne Carrick vs Ezra Bridger might be kinda interesting as well...maybe? Or...how about an intriguing video about the amalgamation, Zez-Kai Skywalker, and the reluctant return to the call of duty, featured in The Lost Jedi?!

“A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.” This was a great video and I’m glad you used purely Legends information for his lightsaber (I certainly prefer it to the way he constructs his lightsaber in canon). I’ve always wondered (well since Attack of the Clones came out anyway) why Anakin and Vader’s lightsabers looked more like Yoda’s lightsaber, with the bevelled emitter shroud and ridged handgrip. Was he comparing himself to the Grand Master in some way, even as a child he saw himself someday surpassing Yoda’s power? Also in my head canon, I imagine Vader’s lightsaber being near on identical to Darth Plagueis’ own lightsaber I don’t know why. I am very much looking forward to seeing more of these types of videos, do you plan on making this into a series?

I know it's been a while since you commented on this video, but if i could reveal something to you. the dark side and sith by extension are about imposing your will onto the force, causing severe change in the material plane as well as the force. it's a motif of dark forces throughout fiction, most notably the Silmarillion and lord of the rings the jedi go on a pilgrimage to atain the crystal and attune to what naturally exists, the sith pervert the force to make what changes they please.

Love Anakin's first hilt that was destroyed on Geonosis paired with his first hilt as Vader. 😎👍💙❤️

Luke and ROTJ Vader's lightsabers also play as metaphors for each of their masters. Vader's lightsaber bears a heavily ridged, mostly dark layout emulating darkness to reflect his fall to the dark side, the natural but bleeding Adegan ruby indicates that he is still having good inside, and his heart is having a massive hole waiting for someone to fill in. Luke's emerald was made by Sith's synthetizing methods, a way to say that he is a Jedi but also carrying a demon within him and he has to control it. But rather than oppressing it, he chose to accept it as his part, and from being more compassionate and altruistic like his father's childhood, Luke filled Vader and Anakin' hurting soul, giving him one chance to make the right thing. And Anakin Skywalker ultimately fulfilled the prophecy and did what a father would always do to protect his baby.

So just wanna point this out but Anakin's 1st lightsaber wasn't destroyed on Geonosis. He literally says in the movie "Not Again. Obi-Wan's gonna kill me".

When looking at Anakin during the Clone Wars micro series and Republic comic series that covered the clone wars era prior to TCW, his lightsaber initially looked almost identical to the one he lost on Geonosis and it wasn’t until the time he was knighted (around the time of the Rendilli Crisis and Battle of Boz Pity) that his hilt looked more like the weapon he had in ROTS. My initial thought was that he built an additional lightsaber some point during the war but I quickly replaced that idea with something much more simple: as a naturally gifted mechanic and with a preference for moving meditation, it is more likely that Anakin tweaked the hilt and culminating in the weapon he used up until his defeat on Mustafar.

it was silly and a dick move!....first of all it degrades the sith to a parasite...not a opposing philosophy...and were did the ancient sith, or the old republic sith get their crystals?...doesn`t really make sence!. second, they could`ve had both!... Just by stating that during the bane sith line, somebody discovered a force technique to corrupt a "light side" crystal and included this technique into their ways.....

It kind of makes sense as in the canon, lightsaber crystals aren't predicated simply on what the crystal itself was before you got it but rather what your connection to the force itself is affects the color of the blade. Basically my conflict with it is less the effect of what it is or a preference towards the synthetic crystal idea.... bur rather I feel the title is misleading and most people who don't even bother reading stories where this stuff is explained properly immediately get the wrong idea and blow it off

You should do Exar Kun's Lightsaber next.

wow, nice video! I hope to see future analysis on other lightsabers, like Bane's or Exar Kun. Also, I see people giving their wishes for a vs video, so I have my own: -Kreia vs Darth Zannah: I liked your in-deep analysis on Kreia's powers, so I would like to see her fight against a Sith who specializes in sorcery and Force powers more than lightsaber skills, like her. Both can hold their own with their lightsaber, but in the end, this would be a battle with the Force. -Darth Maul (TPM) vs Darth Vader (ROTS): I like more TPM's Maul than TCW, more calculator and cool in battle. I know he has been used a lot in many channels and videos, but I still haven't seen him in against Anakin Skywalker, but hell... let's make this more interesting and make him fight Vader before he was burned on Mustafar. I want opinions to see if Maul's more cool and calculating tactics may overcome the more powerfull and ballanced style of Vader fueled with anger. A fight of Sidius' apprentices. -Mace Windu vs Exar Kun: I haven't seen Windu in this channel (or maybe I missed it), and he deserves a strong opponent. I know your thoughts about using Revan, but your videos with Exar Kun are also really good, he is one of the strongest characters in all Star Wars and a worthy opponent for Windu, both good in lightsaber skills and Force powers.

Kreia. She has a broader knowledge base and is superior in almost every way to Zannah, who is largely a one-trick pony. Zannah's best bet against Kreia is Soresu stonewalling and outlasting her, but between Kreia's advanced TK and other powers I don't see that happening. Vader. If he can't ragdoll Maul with TK, he beats him down with his saber and cybernetic strength. While Maul is still tough and more agile, Vader has capably dealt with speedy opponents and the Zabrak's martial arts experience is relatively moot when pitted against a 7-foot death machine. The third one is definitely worth a look. Vaapad and advanced Shatterpoint vs Sith sorcery and arcane disciplines make this one tough to call, but IMO Windu edges Kun just barely.

@@wristofkings With Kreia, I know her knowledge of the Force is broader, but how much of that knowledge is translated into powerfull attacks? And are those attacks strong enough to take on someone like Zannah, who is also a Force speciallist and who could rival Bane? And with my second vs, I'm not saying the suit Vader, I mean the Vader on Mustafar, the one who only pushed and pushed forward against Obi-Wan and his only response was to push harder, the one who was tricked by his eviroments because he was blind with rage and couldn't tap all of his raw potential because of his frustration? Keep in mind that this would be a fight against the Maul that controlled the engagement between Qui Gon and Padawan Kenobi by luring them to his own site of battle, separating them before capitalizing and using the Force more strategically.

Kreia has Shatterpoint, various forms of Sith sorcery including illusions and horror, Drain (powerful enough to kill three Jedi Masters at once with prep), Lightning, can telekinetically manipulate three lightsabers at once, Force healing, Trakata (not a Force ability but could circumvent Zannah's defense), and is an absolute master manipulator above all else. Zannah's got raw TK power (which she rarely uses) and spells of madness, neither of which were enough to overcome Bane. Kreia's arsenal of tricks and utility powers would be well-suited to overcome Zannah's overspecialization, outside of calling on a dark side nexus she can only outlast Kreia, can't surprise her with anything and lacks the strength or dexterity to overwhelm or circumvent her. Mustafar Vader outfences and overpowers Maul. Blind rage or not, he's just too fast and too skilled, and even if Maul is smarter tactically his first instinct is Juyo offense which is a poor response against an enraged Anakin who is simply going to double down. If Maul does succeed in keeping up with him, Anakin will eventually Force choke/crush or TK ragdoll his horned ass into next week. Or the nearest available lava pit. Either way, gg.

Kreia/Traya ftw: Zannah's tactical tunnel vision is death against a manipulator like Traya. Sure Zannah is likely more powerful and can win an endurance run, but Traya has so many force abilities on her side, and tactical viability on her side. Even when it comes to lightsaber combat, Zannah is going to have a terrible time with Trakata. Vader: In a slugging match, Vader hammers Maul to death. And if Maul makes Vader use his force abilities, he is getting wrecked. Hard. Darth Vader during ROTS is basically Berserker Anakin and then some. This one is something Im split on. On the one hand, Windu's shatterpoint application is very well suited for helping Windu adapt and counter the trakata saberstaff, more skilled duelist, and Vaapad super conducting loop is always great against the vast majority of dark siders. But on the other hand, Kun's sith sorcery is some quality hax. 1 blast from the amulet = death for Windu.

Of the two I prefer Legends although I see no reason for both bleeding and synthetic to exist side by side. Synthetic crystals make more sense in that a Sith Lord risked exposing the existence of the Sith Order if they failed to kill a Jedi and obtain their lightsaber to bleed its crystal.

Aadolf Yes. Sith in the Disney canon take Jedi lightsaber crystals and channel their negative emotions into them, turning them red. Synthetic crystals do exist, but are much too large and volatile to be used in a lightsaber.

The Vader really did look like it could tahe a lot of punishment and still function. I do however prefer the Mestare Crustals. Did Vader switch to a natural crystal before or after his encounter with Luke on Bespin? They should find a way to reintroduce synthetic Crystal's into the canon.

He tailored his final Lightsaber as a Jedi for maximum power attacks. This change was critical to his evolving fighting style as after his defeat on Geonosis by the blade of Count Dooku, Anakin decided to focus on mastering the most physically demanding Lightsaber Form (The modern variant of Form V: Djem So).

Wasn't expecting this, but I find it really interesting. In both fiction and in real life, you can learn a lot about a person by the weapon they created and Vader's lightsaber is no different. A heavy duty killing machine that started off as a Jedi weapon of peace, turned into a Sith's weapon of Jedi Hunting. Only thing I disagree with is Vader's dexterity being impaired. Obviously, his agility is impaired (every source with Vader tells us this and this logical makes sense), i don't recall anything about dexterity. But whatever, thats really minor. Btw, will you do another post mortem on Darth Malgus, Darth Krayt, or Sora Bulq?

It makes sense to me. Vader's big cybernetic mitts have the basic human range of movement but look bulkier and less dexterous than flesh and blood or even Anakin's previous cybernetic right hand(s). The main advantage is that the man is practically wearing a pair of crush gauntlets at all times.

+wristofkings No problem. There is a lot but I will do my best A lot of these are really intriguing. This is classical swordswomen vs sorcerer debate (literally). Saba has superior physicals and dueling skill but Wyrlokk has superior force power, and variety of abilities. Given that Wyrlokk can contend with Reborn Krayt (don't think he was going all out but still), Im sure Wrylokk can hold out against Saba while hammering on her with his force abilities. Especially since he has sith sorcery based force illusions on his side. This is one is tricky because I don't recall any of Cronal's combative capabilities. His main powers come from his ability to instill fear in others rather than direct combative capabilities. Cronal is a comp alchemist to Sadow but alchemy isn't really combatively applicable and his lack of displays of force power. Im all over the place on my assessment of Cronal so for now Sadow. I assume this is Celeste + the Murr talisman on her side (like Vector arc). If so, Im siding with her. In a neutral environment, the rakghoul plague doesn't really apply. While Dooku is the superior swordsmen, Celeste could still hold off Vong infested Darth Krayt, and her power in the force is > giving her the possibility to overwhelm Dooku. While I consider Kyle the superior swordsmen in terms of technical skill and knowledge, Cade is still capable to contend and quite an adaptable brawler. However, I consider Cade's superior power in the force +dark Transfer and Shatterpoint hax providing him an edge to give him the win. However, Kyle puts up one hell of a fight. K'Kruhk hat gives him the ability to stomp. However, if this is Dark Times K'Kruhk, I think Slyvar would win. Both don't really employ their force abilities which means this is based off physical abilities and dueling skill. While K'Krukh's biology provides him physical edges, Slvar is a more skilled and experienced swordswomen which should give her the ability to pull a win. If these 2 are bare handed though, K'Kruhk anyday. While I tend to think some people overrate Jaina, I have to give credit where its due. Her force power is comp to Vader which is far above Anakin's developed power which is important because as force wielders, Anakin's advantage comes from his power and struggles when he is getting overpowered. As a duelist, Jaina basically employs a more refined and balanced version of Anakin's method. This is a slugging match, but Jaina's more varied training and greater power should give her the win. As force wielders, both have some solid hax. While Kuro is old as dirt, she is a way more skilled swordswomen and can deal with anything with everything Karko is brining to the table. She can absorb lighting with her sabers, her own will and skill with illusions decreases the effectiveness of his, and she can deal with his telepathy. In return, she can phase through objects, turn invisible, and teleport. While Kuro's lacking physical abilities means she needs to finish this fast, I think she can pull it off. Tricky. While Shaak is the superior swordswomen (because Shaan isn't suited for dueling), she has superior force power and the ability to catch lightsaber blades. Given Shaan tendencies to rely on defense and counter strategy with force abilities, I think she pulls it off. Basically a repeat of duel with Malgus. They clash, Shaak destroys Shan's blade, Shan catches Shaak's blade, and slam her into a bloody pulp. Desann (could be a mistmatch). Physically, super human strength and durability>Maul but Maul has superior dexterity. On a good day, ghost vs tank. On a bad day, Desaan. As a swordsmen, its noted hes had multiple run ins with Kyle Katarn and no winner was decided in their bouts indicating that his skill is more or less equal to Katarn who at this point in time is => Maul as a swordsmen. As a force wielder, lighting and illusions are going to give Maul hell. Tricky. As force weilders, they cant do anything to each other. Malacia's effectiveness against other force wielders is questionable and Battle Mind hard counters Aura of uneasiness and its likely that Warb can defend against Oppo's tk. Given Oppo's lacking stamina and Null's durability, I think Null would simply outlast Oppo, take advantage of Oppo's fatigue, and pull a win. Probably Kreesh because lightsaber destroying lightning. As swordsbeings, they are comp but Bultar wrecks in unarmed combat. Problem is that is lowered by Wredd's heavy armor. Given Wredd's tactics and experience, Im sure that Wredd could somehow blindside Swan with force abilities and clinch a win. Haazen might be a terrible jedi, but he is a cyborg installed with a shit ton of Sith amulets providing him a ton of powers on his side especially the Gauntlet of Kressh the Younger. He also has a knowledge of Sith Sorcery, cast lightning, and amulet boosts his force power. His skill with the blade isn't half bad either. Nothing great, but nothing terrible (unlike when he was a Padawan). So I think Haazen's implants provide him a win here. Sure Githany's whip is something Haazen likely isn't prepared for, but if anything touches him, the opponent gets burned so who cares. Probably Tholme. Man is great at hit and run, and using his environment as a weapon which is something Vindican isn't really prepared for. Not to mention, much like how Kao beat Vindican with a underhanded attack, so to can Tholme (albeit in a very different way). I assume this is Nomi and Ulic before Ulic becomes a Sith Lord. Either way, Nomi is hard counter to Zannah. While I think Bane would defeat Ulic, Nomi could take Zannah down before Bane can to Ulic, Nomi goes on support which means battle meditation which should give Ulic and Nomi the win here. Jaden beats Vetress. I agree with Evannova95's assessment of Jaden using a hybrid of forms 3-5 (djem so for form 5 variant) and his experience with dual blades means Ventress's style isn't something to far out there. Not to mention, Jaden has lightning which Ventress is always brought to heal by. As for Aryn, idk. idk on how Nihl's bizzare hit and run style would work against Kota. I do think that his style is basically a diet version of Kao but couldn't make it work. Nihl's lightning doesn't make up gap as swordsmen so Kao ftw. Jesus this was a lot. Hope you like my thoughts and basic breakdowns on these matchups.

+Rob George Thanks for taking the time to reply to these! Your takes on these matches are great. I will say that Saba has some beast-mode demonstrations of not just raw physical strength but also Force power, particularly TK and Force sense. She was able to ragdoll Kenth Hamner (no Luke by any stretch of the imagination but still a fairly powerful NJO era Master) while injured, for one. Her general skillset is quite similar to K'kruhk but applied at a Master level (so Legacy-era K'kruhk). Mostly though I want this matchup so hard due to the thematic thruline. Both were highly regarded substitute Grandmasters of their respective Orders with impressive feats of their own, forced to sit in the shadow of two all-time powerful Force demigods. Lord Shadowspawn-era Cronal had some pretty powerful abilities beyond Force fear and telepathy--essence transfer, Force-imbued weapons, Mecha-Duru, etc. But yeah, in retrospect this may not have been the best matchup due to Naga's greater combative application. Maybe Joruus C'Baoth is a better Force wizard to face Sadow. Yes, we're talking about Muur Talisman-armed Morne circa Vector. I largely agree with your assessment but I think it'd be a good avenue to bring Morne into the versus series, as she occupies a weird yet familiar place in the mythos--a personality-split Old Republic Jedi/Sith wizard with some pretty impressive feats despite her *very* advanced age. Yes, Dark Times K'kruhk versus the Sylvar who fought Ulic in exile. I do think K'kruhk takes an advantage in the Force as he uses it more often (he was able to knock Quinlan Vos around with TK plus he has an assortment of fairly advanced utility powers). Cathar agility and strength plus claws are pretty vicious natural weapons but K'kruhk should have the endurance to tank it and dish out some brutal hits of his own. IMO, Ti has it all over Satele as a swordswoman and can probably contend with her in the Force. I never found Shan all that impressive based on her performance in the SWTOR trailer, though I know that wasn't her prime and the saberstaff hampers her performance. Either way, Shaak's Ataru/Makashi offensive is just as high-energy as Satele's Ataru blitz but she is better optimized for it and can last longer. Catching a lightsaber blade is impressive but it can't save Shan if Ti comes at her with TK or Kinetite or even physical strikes while Shan's holding the blade. As for Kuro and Karkko, I've always wondered who from that New Republic storyline could take Volfe in an even fight (Vos is a capable fighter for sure, but he was bolstered heavily by battle meditation) without being a mismatch. A'nya was my best guess. Damn, I keep underestimating Desann. To be fair, I don't think Outcast-era Katarn is nearly as powerful as NJO Battlemaster Katarn and is probably comparable to mid-level Council Masters, so on the surface this fight seemed pretty even. Talon and Kressh seem like a perfectly even matchup to me, with Talon taking a (slight) saber edge and Kressh taking it in the Force. Plus... a deathmatch between two crimson-skinned female Sith. Can't go wrong with that :P Agree with your assessment of Bultar and Wredd 100%. Same with Cade and Kyle, and Null and Rancisis. Anakin and Jaina (along with Dooku or Mace vs Jaina) I could go either way on. Haazen's Sith artifacts grant him substantial hax but I don't see anything else about him as particularly noteworthy. Githany isn't a powerful combatant either but I see her as more viable based on her performance in PoD, and the lightwhip would give a relatively weak swordsman like Haazen issues. Don't know how skilled Githany is with TK, but that's another avenue of attack that Haazen could be caught out on. Do agree that Tholme would win. Just want to see this matchup because Tholme is awesome and I think he'd pick a relatively straightforward combatant like Vindican apart. The skill gap between the two is definitely small enough to keep it interesting though. This is pre-Sith Ulic and pre-Grandmaster Nomi, yes. Used to think DoE Bane was beyond Ulic's league, nowadays I'm not certain. I think Qel-Droma has the saber edge if only barely, and having Nomi there to boost him and take Zannah out of play makes this a possible win like you described. But it's a hard call as Bane is a monster and Zannah is not exactly a pushover either. See, I think Ventress can take Korr. I want this match because it'd be an all-out brawl between two gifted Jar'kai users and I've been interested in Korr ever since Evannova analyzed him, but Ventress' skill with the blade is slightly above Jaden's and I doubt his lightning is anywhere near Dooku's level or is beyond her ability to deflect. As for Aryn--that's a real wild card. I have no idea how that would go. As for Nihl, I think he is substantially underrated. He is primarily an ambush predator on the battlefield and not a duelist but he's seen contending with and even disabling/killing some pretty dangerous competition (including both Cade and Kol Skywalker) with his Force abilities. I don't know if his unorthodox style and weapon would put Kao on his back foot, but IMO Kota would be hard-pressed to deal with what Nihl can bring to the table despite his own substantial battlefield experience.

@Jensaarai1 you should talk about Dooku's saber next, make this a series, youtube could use more technical starwars information. And then Luke's, or maybe wired proto-sabers. If you uploaded once a week your consistency would increase channel popularity.

So, TL:DW, The production team lost the original hilt, so they glued shit on Luke's and sprayed it black.

Vader hammers the crap out of Shaak. Dooku. His form 2 is better, greater force power, just as skilled with force abilities, and lightning for good measure. Dooku wont let this turn into an endurance run.

+Master Dooku Both are pretty clear mismatches, though both Ti and Plo can contend their opponents are a step and a half above either on their best days.

Shaak Ti is one of the best masters on the council. She could use her dexterity and Makashi thrusts and parries to circumvent Vader's brute strength. Her offensive is very intense and fast passed however Shaak Ti is very difficult to fight head to head due to her evasiveness so Vader will not be overwhelming her defenses if she keeps her distance. Both are force Paragons so Ti Vs. Vader could go either way. Plo Vs. Dooku is also close. Plo Koon is a complete master of form 5, both variants and Dooku has trouble against power duelist on Plo's level. Plo Koon has a strong defense and applies his Dejm So offensive and counter attacks with Makashi style precision and his emphasis on timing and precision places him in good stand against the more sophisticated elements of Dooku's style. Dooku is stronger in the force by a slight bit but both are equally exotic in their abilities and application and have each been described as telekinetic savants. Plo's better physical condition and stamina would allow him to outlast and overwhelm Dooku in a long fight and Dooku can't beat Plo quickly if at all. So both are great match ups however I like Plo Vs. Dooku more.
