Just bought this today for $20 bucks. It was like the only vader around now that everyone is wanting a black series vader figure now bc of the obi wan series. Thank you so much for the review now I'm very pleased I picked this up! Just subbed my man!

Nice catch of the first carded Darth Vader of black series! I like the first release carded of black series because there's no paper insert inside the blister just plain and simple unlike the new ones there's inserts just below the feet.

I'm an opener myself, but I'd have a hard time taking Vader off the card. That backdrop is pretty sweet looking, you might have to keep it up. Lol. The only Vader's I have are Carbonized and ESB, and yeah, ESB is an awesome figure. Great review. 👍

Hey Matt I think what you've just opened was the rare variant of the legacy pack. Those red eyes if I'm not mistaken of your Vader was the earliest production of legacy pack before it was discontinued. That's a super rare and hard to find pack! eBay's Red eyes Vader Black series price is 100-200+usd and only few are there for sale roughly 7 I think if all of them are legit red eyes and mostly incomplete without the legacy pack box. Vader with red eyes have production stamp of 63641 or 70121 at the bottom of the legacy pack box and there's also at the feet of the figure. It is one of the holy grail in the black series line.

Hmmm.... That's interesting. I thought all of the Legacy Packs contained the "red-eyed" Vader from the 40th anniversary Black Series wave. I'll look into this further. Thanks for the info! 👍🏻👍🏻

I'm glad u finally got this set... Its going for crazy prices over here in Singapore between $70 to $100.. A year and half ago it was only $30 bucks... See how quickly it shoots up... Yes I love that early bird special remake... Brings back memories.. The vader figure is probably one of the best to date only 2nd to the Ep5 version we got awhile back during the empire 40th anniversary. Great review matt and that cool stand needs to be on your shelf with the other retro black series figures..., 👌👌👍👍

This was fun to watch! Really makes me miss my 1970's figures. Especially Hammerhead for some reason, lol!

Yeah it's a great figure and while the Empire Strikes Back version is a better figure to my eye, this is accurate to A New Hope so I also had to get a couple of these for my collection. The stand is a nice touch at the time too. Great review!

It's weird that your production stamp is different from your figure, as I watch it in slowmo the last two digit of your figure is 41 at 10:11 of the video, it should be the same with the box. Anyway there's also difference in the diorama from the rare variant to the ordinary pack, the red eyes diorama have silver paint linings diorama while the ordinary pack has a plain white linings. Lucky for you bro hehe!
