Hunter got it honestly he just need to get use to the 450 but I feel like he hurted himself on the fall and almost came back but it’s hard on the body when you crash like that at the start of a race , could’ve been way worst but hunter is not a tank like some other riders , still got up and finished the race tho

His practice crash looked like a hard hit, i dont think he was feeling right for the rest of the night. Then friese took out his front end, he had a couple hard falls that rattled him and he probably just wanted to finish the night without injury after that

here's some stats of the current 450 class... If you include Prado's MX1 title, there's 8- 450 champions currently in the class and (If you count the SMX title for Jett) there's 4 multi-time 450 champions on the gate..Kenny had 2-450 titles outdoors that people forget about. I know it's supercross currently, but a 450 title is a 450 title regardless if it was indoors or out...and if Hunter made the main last weekend, there would of been 9 other riders that while they might not have a 450 title on their resume, they do however have 250 titles... That means, there's 17 guys currently in the 450 class that have won professional titles either indoors and/or out...and nearly half of those guys are 450 champions, which is absolutely insane. You've got 10 riders on the gate who have won atleast 1- 450 national or 450 main event, then 4 more guys who have gotten on the podium multiple times in the 450 class, two of which (AP and Mookie) are due for a win, and they both have the ability to do just that if things go their way...Especially if Mookie can find the speed he had in '23 before he got hurt, but he didn't look like that guy last weekend, maybe his bike settings were off or he's rusty from the time off due to injury. Jetts outdoor run was the deepest undefeated outdoor championship of all 4....Ricky had Tim Ferry that was runner up one year, '02 and '04 didn't have a single premiere class champion besides RC, and only there was 1 single 125 champion in the premiere class that year...which was Ferry who won a 125 regional title years prior, without winning a single main event... in '04 the competition was just as weak, but now Ricky was on a really good 450 instead of the CR250R, one of his all time favorite bikes he's ever raced. While his RM250 was much better than the CR250R for supercross/better bike in general, basically being a carbon copy of Reeds title winning YZ250, the '04 CRF450R on the other hand was far better than his 05 and 06 RM-Z450... The RM-Z had a lot of issues the first couple years...Although, in 05 outdoors Ricky ran a prototype thanks to a loophole in the rules, it was the last true WORKS bike in AMA racing, and in 06, he got put on the production bike...While it wasn't a great bike (just like the 06 kawi was terrible), it was their first 450 built and 4 stroke technology was new..Meanwhile Honda had their bugs worked out, and it showed when he went undefeated in '04. Ironically, the only bike to beat him in 2003 outdoors was a 450 piloted by kevin Windham, while RC was on the CR250R who had the throttle to the stopper. He beat ricky for 2 overalls that year and 4 motos...and then it took James until 2008 after RC retired in 2007 to win an outdoor 450 title, which also happened to be a perfect season. His biggest competition was Tim Ferry, and then Alessi that year....When him and RC battled, they'd put a minute on those guys. I'm more shocked the bike held together all season than I am James won every moto against those guys... BTW, James only won 3 overalls against Ricky from 05-07 outdoors, all of which Ricky crashed the lead away while checked out...in '05 RC went 22/24 motos and won all 12 overalls. In '06 Ricky won 9 of 12 overalls (James got 3, and quite a few first moto wins) and '07 Ricky won 6 of 6 overalls and all 12 motos during his partial season.... Meanwhile, Jett went against Kenny, Dylan, Anderson, Webb, all 4 of which have 450 titles... Don't forget the guys on the gate that have won 250 titles indoors and/or out and battlef for podium and race wins on a 450... Was Eli there? No, but the guy who was the new Supercross Champion and the same guy who took Eli to the very last round of outdoors with, i believe, a single point separating them going into the final 2 motos... and he straight up beat Eli multiple times in '22...Chase even said the pace felt higher than the previous year. Jett vs Sexton outdoors was like RC going perfect against James... it's very close to that and everyone picked Chase to win the title in '23 after seeing what he did against Eli, who's a 4 time 450 motocross champion...They call it weak, but besides Eli, name one single rider who was missing outdoors who could of ran the pace, and potentially straight up beat Chase and Jett for a moto or overall win?.....There was no one else. Hell, the rest of the field I mentioned could of never raced a single round, it could of just been Sexton and Jett on the gate together, and that still would of made that season the hardest/stacked year to go undefeated in compared to the other 3 perfect seasons, by far...just go look up those seasons and see for yourselves if you don't believe me. And honestly, Eli was struggling with stability at speed on the new chassis even in supercross because of the shorter wheelbase...he wouldn't of been nearly as good on the '23 outdoors as he was the '22 model, we saw how badly Dylan struggled on it and it was due to that very same issue...and with outdoors, there's next to no pre season testing going into round 1, and that bikes stability issue was a struggle to fix....i mean, they even tried the '22 models longer swingarm, changed fork rake, offsets, races, etc and it took all season to get it feeling better for Dylan...So I'm not sure Eli would of made much of a difference in Jetts run at a perfect season, and I'm saying that more due to the bike, not Eli's ability when he's comfortable and on his game...If Eli showed up on that '22 model, I think he could of won a couple but Jett would of still walked away with the title, especially if Chase is right about the pace being higher in '23 than it was in '22...and only he would know that. Eli is my favorite rider since RC, so I'm not hating, just being honest...With a full year the team has on the chassis, I think they could get the bike is a good spot for Eli going into outdoors, if he decided to race. Which, I hope he does, and I know Jett does too. Inside scoop, Hunter in hurt after his huge slam in press day and then his crash in his heat, which was his major issue in his LCQ...Rang his bell for starters, and there's some other stuff they got checked out this week. From what I've heard through the grape vine, they aren't sure if we'll see him racing this weekend or not.. Regardless, he's beat Jett straight up before on a 250 in Supercross, and the 450 fits both their styles well...Hunters got a lot less time on it, but he trains with Jett every day and his speed is up there with Jett during the week...So while it wouldn't shock me if he gets a podium this year, i really think it'll take a full year on the bike to get on the box in supercross, well, atleast to do it straight up without the top guys having an issue. Right now, he's anywhere from 5-10th place guy, which anyone in the top 10 are capable of podiums on any given weekend, if not a win under the right circumstances....and that's no bullshit either, will it happen?... not likely. There's 3, possibly 4 guys that are going to take the vast majority of the wins.. so even though its more stacked this year, I think we'll see less winners this year than last.
