It's worse than that: with Leda and Sarah being deconstructions of the isekaied protagonist trope, they're scentially representing the players. And while Sarah represents the "filthy casuals" (for lack of a better term), those who play the game for funsies regardless of how good or bad they are at it, Leda represents the players who take their video games too seriously. After all: isn't that what WE players do? Dance and dance till we get it right? Till we get it PERFECT? After all, how many hours did YOU spend chasing after those precious Megastar scores?

I kinda agree tho that the obvious lipsyncing to Sweet Dreams ruins the experience from the map a bit. The song, however, is a banger. I love how dark and gritty it sounds, but also haunting at the same time, which I think fits Night Swan's character perfectly. The best thing that they could've done was just give this song an entirely new map and choreo. People are mostly just shitting on the song because they already associated this map and choreo to SD, so a completely different map could've prevented or lessen the unnecessary hate for this song.

This map is actually vey good if you forget it was supposed to be Sweet Dreams. The song is not bad and it actually adds to Night Swan/Leda's lore. My favorite part is how discordant the chorus sounds, I think it adds to the "I'm losing my mind" aspect. RIP to Sweet Dreams but Darkest Hour is still a good replacement.

10 year olds can't stop blaming leakers that we didn't get sweet dreams. But why would Ubi do that? They would only lose money if they release this ish instead of sweet dreams just because of "hackers-leakers". This is a mess. The new song doesnt commit to the same verse and chorus structure. So sometimes the chorus choreo is this set of moves and sometimes the chorus choreo is something different. The lyrics read like they came from ChatGPT

No the song actually slaps. It sounds even darker than Sweet Dreams which I think fits Night Swan's character. But the reason why this is so hated is because people were already HIGHLY anticipating Sweet Dreams, then out of nowhere, this happened. And the fact that the coach is still seen lipsyncing to SD, it just kinda ruins the immersion from the map. Knowing how fans can go a little crazy over the slightest disappointments, the JD Team or Ubisoft should've expected this already. The best thing that they could've done was prepare a completely different map as a backup, in case things don't go as planned. I'm sure this song wouldn't get as much hate if they just made a new map with a new choreo for it. This way, the fans wouldn't feel like the SD map was "ruined" or "disgraced".

They should have either redone the choreo or make a better job editing the lips, you can see her singing to sweet dreams when no one is singing, and when there are lyrics, she stops singing. The part where the ballerina appears is also a bit offsync if compared to sweet dreams, but its decent enough. I give the map a 7/10 because its good, but the song and the map being a bit disconected ruins it.

This entire choreography was intended to go over Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), as proven by various leaks that happened even before JD2024's release. If you synchronized Sweet Dreams with this choreography, it would literally fit perfectly (especially regarding the lipsyncing and the ballet part). They presumably lost the rights to the song, so we ended up getting this for the routine's official release instead. It's not the first instance of this happening, but it will probably live on to be the most egregious instance of it.
