1. Alfira is already dead and pretending to "care" about it won't bring her back. 2. As a vampire spawn, Astarion is treated by society as an "unperson" anyone can murder on a whim, thus Astarion (who is already mistrustful of people after 200 years of abuse) lives in constant fear of his allies turning against him. The Dark Urge falsely blaming the murder on Astarion is not just a betrayal Astarion has subconsciously been waiting for, it's a very real threat to his life! Indeed, one ending (if the companions believe the Dark Urge's accusation) is that the companions gang up on him and murder Astarion! (Permadeath, just like when you stake him during the Act 1 Bite Night or hand him over to Gandrel.)

Tav: "She annoyed me." Astarion: "Ah. That does sound reasonable. Carry on." I'm *dying*

I love how Astarion is the sensible one in this situation. He can see right through Durge yet he remains calms and tries to understand. The best approach considering you don't want to make a person who stabbed an innocent girl to death in cold blood see you as a threat

He doesn't understand anything. He simply finds the murder amusing. It's not that he is being empathetic with your character thinking that something is there inside her controlling her and least of all that she needs help.

@@SeventhheavenDK I don't think amusement is the right word for what he's feeling. He's worried he might be the next to get stabbed should he get on Durge's bad side, so he pretends to be sympathetic and makes a calm questioning instead of immediately judging Tav like the others

I love how the first few minutes of he video is basically like an average Among Us chatroom where someone has been found dead in electrical and the only two people there are blaming the fuck out of each other. I just found dialogue with a random goblin in the camp and saw that all the companions have multiple lines depending on your choices. It’s just talking to a random goblin out front and Astarion has 4-5 different things he’ll say there

I don't remember everyone I've killed... But i do remember everyone I've killed in the LAST FIVE MINUTES😂😭. And Spiderman thought he had a shot of beating this acting lol

I just noticed Astarion claims Tav woke him, but regardless of how innocent he is in this particular case, isn't he supposed to NOT sleep? he's a high elf, undead, and immune to sleep spells

Elves don't sleep like humans but they trance. And the game shows us that vampires _do_ sleep. (Just usually during the day.) Cazador's seven spawn all have beds in his palace. When you play as Origin Astarion, him sleeping badly due to recurring nightmares about Cazador (and reliving the night Cazador cut the runes into his back in painful detail) is even a plot point! Not sure why you think immunity to sleep spells has any relevance here. Those are _spells._

I think maybe the lore interprets that elves don't need sleep, but that doesn't mean they don't enjoy the practice, or try to sleep anyway.

Yuuuuuuup totally agree with you. Nothing worse then clickbait or wasted time. Before I started making videos I’d watch bg3 videos and got so annoyed from the clickbait or it having so much extra repeating bits just to increase the length for the video. So I wanted to make videos I’d enjoy watching with no bs to them! ☺️

I didn't even know you could blame this on Astarion, lol XD My durge was entirely horrified of what she'd done (cause I was, alvira's such a lovely soul) then went "better confess and face whatever wrath comes my way, I deserve it, don't I"

Omg so I played durge as my second playthrough and when she showed up I thought I missed something in my last playthrough and we could recruit her! I was so happy! Then I was greeted with probably the most gruesome scene in the game 😞 At first I reloaded and did the thing to save Alfira and kill Quil, but then reloaded again and kept it true. Killing Alfira was heartbreaking but I felt like, lore wise, that would be the turning point for my character to actual resist the urges

If you help her finish her song with your bardic knowledge it's so wholesome (that was my first interaction with Alvira)

You have to knock Alfira out the day you’re going to have the event (so you have to save scum and reload once you see she shows up, then knock her out) I did this at first but I felt like Alfira was so much more impactful to my resist urge that I ended up reloading and sticking with the way it was intended, though it broke my heart 😩 Here the video to save Alfira: www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8g4tAe6/

@@TetraTheMage oh, I get it now! I doubt she'll ever be friendly towards you again if you KO her though.... and yes, story-wise it'd make little sense for durge to KO Alvira "at random". I also kept it in despite heartbreak (I assumed that, if you wouldn't accept Alvira in your camp, she'd survive the encounter, never checked).

So the only way I could get him to catch me and be the only one to talk….was by killing the other companions…or more so making them stand in something that would damage them and kill them so they wouldn’t be in the cutscene. I tried only having Astarion in my party but if they were alive they all talked over him. From all my testing I could never make him talk when they were around. It was always Lae’zel, Shadowheart, or Gale

@@dominika3762 did you sleep after and she was gone? She ran away, or looked like she was running but she was still in my cutscene. You can just kill Gale yourself and he causes a necro damage field to spawn on his corpse and you can walk the other party members into it 😅

its random who "catches" you. When I did my testing Gale caught me the most, followed by Lae'zel and Shadowheart. To make Astarion catch me I was super unlucky. I....had to unalive everyone besides astarion to make him catch me lol

It’s a mod called “show approval rating in dialogue” I wanted to have it for these videos to show everyone the approval ratings of each choice! If you play on pc mods are super easy to do

Don’t hide the body, you can wash off the blood but I choose the wake the others or you’re not going to hide or something forcing them to catch me

There are a couple mods that do this - “Show approval ratings in dialogue” and “Overexplained Interaction Options”. I think this mod is the former.

How do you get astarion to catch you

So the only way I could make it happen is by having Lae’zel, Gale and Shadowheart dead for the night. If you kill Gale (throw a bomb and clip him) when he dies he has this necro field that you can walk Lae’zel and Shadowheart into and make them stand in it until they die. Then raise everyone the next morning!
