Hi, I am from a physics background. After my bachelor's I decided to shift my career path because after my bachelor's in physics I came to know that physics is not for me.Then I got an interest towards coding and I learned java and I loved it and finally I decided to pursue my career in IT as a DEVELOPER.But most of the people told me that you couldn't get a job as a developer without CS degree. So I joined an MCA degree in an private engineering college in Salem but currently I am learning nothing in college but just listening to those useless lectures.Both my money and time got wasting.I ALSO PLANNED TO GET AN EDUCATION LOAN🙂. I feel like I am not acquiring right skills to become a developer but only writing as many as exams in my college. So I thought it would be better to discontinue this course and improve my skills by learning through online courses and to obtain a job through off campus. So Please clear my below doubts 1.Is it possible to get an IT job without a CS degree,does computer science degree matters a lot? 2.is it ok to discontinue the course and to join some online courses to obtain the right skill or wheather I have to continue the college? 3.Does companies concentrate more on degrees rather than skills irrespective of any backgrounds? 4.how hard is to get a job through offcampus that too with a non CS degree? I feel I am got stuck in my life! Please help me🙂

I think I'm in the right position to answer for this question. I'm also non IT background student, physics graduate .So after I did my graduation I learnt programming language and enter into IT field, since one and half year I'm working in IT as a developer. So no matter which degree we studied , matter is how we are skilled for that role. All the best for your career 👍.

Bro I am also from non tech background. I completed my degree in Zoology. I started learning about web development during my college days. Now i have good knowledge of web development. Even i also have one job offer recently, but i reject that offer because i want to learn more for now. I wanna just say you that don't think about jobs just focous on your learning or skiills. When you build enough projects or you confident on yourself then you can get any job.
