Always remember seeing these Counties around when I was an apprentice at Reading and OOC, the name plates were straight, not curved like the other classes.

I do like the Piphon and Monster Vans. They will be some nice rolling stock! But the loco is also nice

Swindon works had the flanging blocks for 8F boilers as they were building them. I get the impression that they were not very popular with the drivers. It may be why Castles continued to be built until 7037 in 1950. There is a rumour that a batch of 30 Castles were built at the end of the 1950s, which is not impossible as they could have been very heavy rebuilds of older locomotives. Sam Ell at Swindon was the draughting wizard to conducted the experiments and developed the double chimneys for Castles and Kings. Duke of Gloucester was Swindon's lemon due to the draughting and not sorted out until it got into preservation.

If a county is gonna be introduced into the series what name will you be considering for the character (Sir Eustace Missenden is called Eustace & Sir Mador De La Port is called De La Trip so what character name would you consider for them).

12:37 Aside from the spacebar whistle, which I'm pretty sure is new, all the other whistles are the same as SSS used on the DT Collett Goods, the Saints, and the Heavy Freight Tankies, with a pitch-changed version used on the DT 43xx Churchward Moguls. That suits me just fine as I quite like them, certainly more than the piercing screech used on the Exeter-Kingswear engines. The spacebar whistle, like say, I'm pretty sure is new, and I quite like it except that once again SSS has cocked up on the looping so it goes on too long after you release the key; I can't understand it, you go back to their older sound packs like the (Kuju) Black 5, the 8F, the original 9F, and the looping is fine. But now their recent sets have all had this same problem. But ask them about it and all you get is "Well, we needed to do that for them to sound realistic, so there's nothing we can do." The hell there isn't, you used to do it just fine! Just look at what you used to do and do that! Sorry, didn't mean to go on an off-topic rant. Just bugs me, is all.

I mean, that'd be one way to get commuters to work in the morning just to run a non-stop service made of a long line of slip coaches that drops off a coach at each station on the fly :)

Interesting, I sometimes get confused between the coaching sets, but it's odd for just one normal passenger coach in the pack though...

there is a simple way to tell the difference between the two ..basicly on the hawksworth coaches the ends slope down slightly on the roofs at the ends wheres the collett ones are normal like mk1 coaches were the roof is a normal curve ..dus seem strange but then I suppose it adds an extra coach to the others that are out I suppose :)

I thought there was a County Class at West Somerset Railway.
