I love that you brought up your own experiences with treating patients. I would say maybe call it "professional anecdotes" as I find often people use the term anecdote as a reason to dismiss a claim. Your clinical anecdotal evidence is A LOT different from what a rando on the internet says about a product or ingredient. I think that should be talked about more :)

I am barely five minutes in.... and you have solved a mind-boggling mystery for me. I am literally screaming thank you at my screen! I have been extremely happy with the results of Ambi fade cream for roughly a decade, unfortunately I did not have control over my adult acne causing unsightly hyperpigmentation scars with that said my beloved Ambi had literally disappeared from the shelves. I could not understand why, recently it re-emerged with a totally new look, much smaller packaging now prominently stating "hydroquinone free". I was lost and disappointed because the old product worked wonders for my skin......FINALLY thanks to this video I understand why. I know it's a long comment but I needed to give context. Again thank you SOOOOO VERY MUCH for this informative content. Much appreciated!

🙌🏼 Thank you so much for the informative video. I’ve been working on fading my dark spots for not days, weeks or months - but years 😳! I think I’m on about year 6, but it’s finally gotten more manageable through diligence and lots of SPF. I also discovered the Topicals Faded through one of your previous videos & notice slow, yet steady results. Any other videos focusing on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I just commented to say the same thing. With over the counter products, this takes years and lots of sunblock. Which is something I didn’t realize until later in life because sunblock irritated my eyes and skin but I’m using what least irritates me as much as possible. I even got my hands on hydroquinone to push the fading faster. Of course I won’t use it for a long period of time and will use it and break for awhile and then try it again while using other stuff like niacinamide, vitamin C, peels etc

At the 10:14 mark I thoroughly enjoyed both dermatologists discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the zitsticka patches. Giving us consumers the autonomy to choose. Essentially, the cost effectiveness (# of patches to use) vs versatility of treating/targeting a specific problematic area (micro target area). Each epidermis is different (whether a lot of hyperpigmentation or a few of hyperpigmentation); yet, I love all the skincare options (excluding alcohol ingred.) that are available! Thank you for this informative video :)

I will continue to use this product because I think it will eventually make this spot go away completely within another week or so. I recently had a age spot that appeared on my lower cheek and got obviously dark even though I religiously wear sunscreen. I started putting a 20% Salicylic acid peel directly and only on the spot avoiding the skin around it. It got darker, dried up, and peeled right off. I this twice a day for 5-7 days. My skin is fair-light like a level 2 on the Fitzpatrick scale

I’ve had skin pigmentation since my youth. I used to say well it’s from dad who had olive complexion and the white was from mom. When I had kids , it became more evident. In my fifties I was prescribed some creams from the dermatologist but it worked and it didn’t. My skin became extremely sensitive, sometimes itchy, couldn’t go out in the sun etc. I stopped using any cream because out of the blue I got eczema on my eyelids so I couldn’t use anything. My face was irritated a lot so I only used Cera Ve from the drugstore, face & eyelids. I’m in my sixties now and recently I noticed that the pigmentation is hardly noticeable, some areas I would say it’s gone and where it was raised it’s flat. I STRONGLY BELIEVE ITS BECAUSE I eliminated carbs from my diet. Since I was young my diet was 100% carbs, now I would say it’s 20% maybe less some weeks. I cut out carbs for health reasons and this helped my skin. I’m 100% sure about this for myself. 👍❤️🥳

I’m not sure if you read these comments (especially on older posts) but first, thank you for your professional opinions and knowledge! I’ve recently started using Faded and due to having niacinamide in many other products I use daily, I’ve tried to find the percentage and reach out to the company. So far, no response. Their website FAQs do not disclose due to proprietary information of their formula. I am no stranger to this concept however when dealing with OTC products, it’s not uncommon to share some active ingredient percentages and it’s becoming the industry standard for skin care products. I was interested in this product due to your review, the ingredient list, and also seeing it founded by a pediatric dermatologist. Is there any other way for us to get clarification on some of the ingredient percentages of this product? Perhaps you may be aware of independent studies or other sources that guide consumers. If you read this far, thank you so much for your time.

Faded is great, along with retinoids like Tretinoin and prescription azelaic acid. It's not what most people want to hear, but some dark marks can take YEARS to fade and if you're prone to hyperpigmentation including PIE/PIH and melasma, you need an entire routine that is geared towards treating that consistently and continuously over years. Wearing sunscreen not only when outside but also inside is also key.

I'm using Faded with 20% Azclear, plus Avene Retinaldehyde. Good result too 👍 Downside is now my face is so much brighter than my body skin. Now, I have to care about my body skin too. 😅 I have both Versed dark gel and Faded. Faded is so much better.

@@chuletonize I have the cream formula and I tend to like that to sink in first and kind of do the work Tret is known for and then follow along with the pigment inhibitors 😊 But it's totally up to your individual preference and the texture of your Tretinoin formulation. My usual routine for Tret nights after cleansing is niacinamide serum, Tret, Faded, and then moisturizer. Sometimes I'll use an azelaic acid (Finacea) instead of the Faded.

Been using Faded since last year since Doctorly’s prior recommendation as I have pressure dark marks on my nose bridge from old ill fitting glasses. It is working slowly as I have to wear them and there’s still light pressure from new ones (have a heavy scrip). I may add in micro darts for additional support. Love Dr Maxfields laugh and face palm!

That is a bummer IMO b/c I care more about performance than smelling like roten eggs for a few minutes. (I don't use "Faded" as I formulate my own skincare, but the glutathione smell fades for me...and I use a decent %.) I suggest giving the reformulation a try.

My face immediately looked better but my hyper pigmentation was still there. Love you both! Enjoy your content a lot. Very informative. So, I have found dark spots on my jawline a few months back that were very obvious. Went to the dermatologist to find it was acid keratosis, from sun exposure for years. They treated the spots with cryotherapy. It is effective but the healing time is lengthy. Up to a month. I am now taking care of my skin better with retinoids and moisturizer at night, Vichy, moisturizer and sunscreen during the day. Getting older stinks! I just had a treatment the other day at the doctor and it is still sore as it dries my skin but I do see the treatment is effective. But while it is effective, it is unsightly while it is healing. I cover them lightly with some concealer but only when I go out and take off immediately when I get home. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thank you both for your info! It is helpful and you both are adorable!!!
