Yeah same as with normal fc quit. But that doesn't work on an elevator, it puts you back up then so for those this is the only way

with 40 END and fap ring you can skip Artorias with this. But the landing needs some luck I heard. I skipped Artorias a while back with a stone guardian from above, an old SpeedSouls strat ( indeed from Capitaine and Kahmul ) which still works but goddamn that is some long elevator shaft to fall through and time the quitout XD If I ever get 40 END I'll try it with memerolls lol but I already had someone test it and it's possible if you land right , but only just enough endurance :)

I get just above fast roll and roll off put I can't roll in mid air, any advice (if it helps I am on switch)

Switch is 30 fps I think so, it is way way harder. But still possible although hard to explain. So I will advise you to read " ruykk " 's comment down here in the comments. He explains how it can still be done on 30 fps . Speedrunners use it as well but it it depends on your equip load, so I cannot even give a working setup. So yeah read Ryukk's comment

unfortunately in ds1 you cant cast fall control again when it's already active iirc so that doesnt work

It's due to the framerate increase, this glitch is possible in PTDE but requires an equip load that is just barely a teensy tiny fraction over 25% (only possible with floating point imprecision). No one noticed it until DSR's framerate made the range larger.

What if you quit out? Does quitting make you respawn at where you jumped in the first place?

If you quit before you hit the ground then yes, if you quit after you land you'll be down there. Always puts you on the last solid ground you touched

cant get it to work edit: it needs to be at 22% equip load edit 2 (5 months later): 22% didn’t work the 2nd time around. just keep messing with the weight until it works, just don’t get to a fat roll.

Does this work in normal Darks Souls 1(Not the remastered)?

It should work in DS1 at 60 fps, you probably die cause bad landing. That also has to be decent so if you die when you land you need to start your first roll from further or closer, it's not always automatically right.

Ps5 remastered I was having trouble because it would not initiate the roll for me. After fiddling around with equipment weight I was successful at 23.6

Well it's a % of your total equip load so, it'll be different every time. If you have 60 total equip load for example it'll be between 25 and 29% of that so, just over 15. You probably have around 95 total equip load I'd say if 23.6 works. It's easy, just check the right side number of your equip load, divide that by 4, and make the left number just slighty higher than that 👍

I’m finding trouble completing the Artorias skip with the meme roll, for some reason I keep getting stuck somewhere in the middle of like an unloaded sky box. I asked Kahmul about the various equip load differences, he says 25-29 % is the lightest mid-roll and I think that's right, he's very knowledgeable about things like that :) Also, interesting, it's the 60 fps that makes it work then

well it's very complicated. On 60 fps you need an equip load of between 25% and 29.1% for it to work, in other words, easy. On 30 fps however you need an equip load of 25.000088% . Which sounds impossible but the game doesn't actually calculate equip load in precise round number so it is achievable. Unfortunately I cannot help you with that cause I never did it before on 30 fps and besides from the new all bosses route on PTDE ( which is also on 30 fps ) I don't really have an example for you. It depends on your total equip load as well obviously so just doing what someone does in a speedrun if your total equip load is different will not work. I suggest you go to " catalystz " channel here on youtube, he has a recent video on how it works, and he just uploaded the new WR on PTDE ( 30 fps so I assume it should be the same for switch ) which uses meme rolls . The one video is about differences in remastered and PTDE but the meme roll part is fps related so switch should be like PTDE

It's framerate related. It needs to be 60 fps, idk what xbox is? On 30 fps it needs to a very precise setup which I cannot tell you cause I don't know lol, it's like 25.00001 equip load or something. Speedrunners do it on 30 fps but they have a particular setup that works, you would need to watch a speedrun on the normal game, and see what they equip in each slot. And check their endurance cause equip load changes with endurance and if that is different their setup will also not work on 30 fps. It easy on 60 fps, and very precise on 30 fps

Well Check your equip load. , and make it just over 25% of the total. Like 25.1/100 for example.just equip armor and/ or weapon that get you just above 25% of the total

I am on ps4 so definitely works. your equip load is probably wrong. you need to be slightly over 25 % so equip something that takes you Just over fast roll. too heavy and it doesnt work

the last roll needs to somewhat be when you land I think. This particular one works well for me, also the DLC elevator skip. some other spots are tricky

Just spam roll. But yeah sometimes you need to try from a different angle or start first roll from further away, anything that can change the moment you land cause that last roll is the one that determines wether you live or die. I haven't tested every possible spot yet so, I'll run into spots where it should work but that are harder as well no doubt ;) This is the best meme though, I love memerolls XD

well if you're on remastered ( or original with DSfix for 60 fps ) it should work, don't think we got patched lately. Make sure your equip load is right. between 25 and 29 % should be good ( so if your equip load is say, 60 then you need to have just over 15 weight equipped ) Maybe you misunderstood and had between 25 and 29 weight, instead of 25-29 % of your equip load

This shit glitch is doesn't work I have 27% and he rolls only one time.
