Honestly, though, literally only 1 dark sorcery is even remotely good. Dark Orb is pure ass due to how long it takes to cast, Dark Fog is beyond useless because poison sucks and Poison Mist exists without stat requirements, and Pursuers is strong in theory but kind of meh in practice because roll spamming counters the slow projectiles which in PvE is awful because the range limit oftentimes has bosses move away until it fades. Pursuers also has the added problem of needing 2 Attunement for only a measly 3 uses (i'd much rather have 20 HCSM casts instead for both PvP and PvE since i can at least fuck with people's movements more often). Dark Bead however is possible the most ridiculously OP spell to have ever been conceived in the Soul series. Black Flame is also powerful, but that's pyromancy and it's basically just Great Combustion but with higher poise damage.

I like that you simultaneously bow to the audience AND moon your enemy after each fight.

A lot of int and endurance, power within and sanctus to compensate the damage, red tearstone ring, Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring, Tin Crystallization Catalyst and Crown of dusk.

Asylum Demon forgot his Cat Ring.

For all those asking what build this is.This a well known and old build search it up its not hard to find. You don't need maxed stats either! you don't get much benefit from maxing all stats as theres heavy diminishing returns in terms of magic damage in this game. Dark bead and pursuers are incredibly op. Mix that with red tear stone ring and power within/crown of dusk/bellowing dragon crest ring/sanctus/cursed (sanctus will only keep u alive with low vitality so u don't die in rtsr range using power within)_ect and on a meta level sl125 build you could get the same results. Dark sorcery in dark souls 1 is fucking absurd in pve especially. You can do the same with a pyro build with a similar setup.

@@SERPENTONORTHAM1992 It already kills most of the bosses in two hits, investing millions of souls into strength to make the Manus catalyst a bit better than the crystalization catalyst might be a bit mad... ;-)

I was also wondering why the Manus catalyst with 50-str and 50-int weren't used in the video. I used to run around with a 45-dex and 50-in PvE build that did more damage with the tin banishment catalyst than Logan's when using dark sorceries thus I know by experience that physical scaling is a thing for dark sorceries. It may have made an specially big difference in the DLC since their magic defense is through the roof.

Also found it weird that he isn't using the Manys Catalyst, the damage should be even higher.

Use havels greatshield and you’ll still take like 600 damage from the brunt of a pursuer or dark bead

I think the building has the dusk crown with RTSR and Power Within, plus like bellowing dragon crest ring, in terms of what's not on his equipment hub

Doesnt the Manus Catalyst do more Dmg for Dark Bead? It may have less MagicAdj (295), but dark magic scales with Strength and Int, and the Manus Catalyst have a b scaling in strength in addition to the s scaling in int.

Probably because he doesn't have the Strength to max out the physical scaling of the Dark Spells. A 50/50 Str/Int with the Manus Catalyst must reach even higher damage outputs.

to be fair hes going into hyper mode with power within and stacking all multiplicative buffs there are available. without the hyper mode, his dmg would be lower by alot

Is it exactly the same as the original build? or did you find any way to tinker the damage higher? I saw a 10,000 damage total is why i ask though that might just be over leveling

I was going to say dark magic is totally OP in DS1 and it requires 0 skill to kill bosses with it. But that one king fight wasn't too bad.

So if someone doesnt have the Str requirements for casting Hexes with the Manus Catalyst, then the Crystaline one is the next best option I guess.

OneShallStandOneShallFall I've used both and with my int scaling (70 int), the tin crystalline catalyst is better. Not a whole lot but it has about a 25-30 magic adjustment difference. To each their own though. Both are top two in game

Sorry, I meant Strength Scaling. Dark Sorceries have Physical Damage scaling with Strength too, so a 50/50 Str/Int Manus Catalyst could probably surpass the Tin Crystalline in damage output but only for Dark Sorceries.

For non-dark sorceries the tin crystallization all the way. For dark sorceries it depends on how much strength and intelligence a build has, I don't know the exact points when the manus catalyst surpasses the tin crystallization catalyst but as a general rule of thumb the higher the strength and the lower the intelligence the better the manus catalyst is and viceversa for the tin crystallization catalyst. At relatively equal strength and intelligence the manus catalyst is better for sure but only for dark sorceries.

Ah, from what I know Manus catalyst is the same as in Crystallization buts better for dark magic and slightly worse than Tin with normal sorcery. Stray demon _might_ have been able to be one shot. But who the hell wants to give up pursuers, right?

Err, pursuers are also a dark sorcery that scale with Manus Catalyst stregth scaling. Or were you writing about sacrificing the attunement necessary for pursuers to boost up strength?

Power within doesn't scale with the flame level does it?

Crystal Catalyst + Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring + Red Tearstone Ring + Power Within + Sanctus Shield + 50 Intelligence + Dark Magic found in the DLC. The rest stats is up to the skill of the player and don't affect the damage output.
