I never realy thought about it, but now, watching your video again, it seems like Ludleth was a highborn child tossed into the flame by others, to link it, in a desperate age, where people took desperate measures. And I think that the fact he seems proud of his linking of the flame just reflects a "wanna be though" attitude, like, well, a child would've react to a trauma like this. Don't you think?

That Kaathe bit would be really irritating, as the whole concept behind the Fire and the serpents is the one big unaddressed issue in the lore, and across two games they've never even brought it up. It's probably the only thing I'll be looking for in the DLC, as I don't really care what king banished what knight during year 5426 of era 16, or whatever. Just writing the serpents out in favor of more dry historical fluff would be a real disservice to the series.

I really like the tale of Gilligan you can tell from the prison based on where all the ladders are. Clearly he had his hands on the window key that was supposed to troll prisoners. His ladders let him escape the wardens, sneak by the giant, and explore the city below. Inevitably he found no route to freedom from the capitol and quite literally took the Long Nap. Of course, without his ladders we would have never made it through to the giant king. Gilligan: the true hero of Dark Souls.

Oh, THAT'S why I didn't end up seeing Havel's set the first time around! For some coincidental reason I went back to where I had killed the Stray Demon many many hours prior, and there was Havel's set just sitting there! I was like, "how in the heck did I miss this the first time?!?!?" It's because it doesn't spawn until after you kill Havel by the stone dragon (which I had done, but no idea that it was the trigger). Now I know I wasn't just inattentive. :P

Today I was going through her reactions to emotes and she also looks away when you use the collapse emote. This could tie into several things including her not wanting to see you fall into hollowing and being discouraged. Food for thought

So, here's my theory on ludaleth's nightmares. If you've been paying attention to the world in DS3, you will notice three things are prominent. One is the cliffs leading off into grey nothingness. I dare call them crags. *grey crags*, as it were. Second is the flora. Specifically the trees. Comparing areas like darkroot and the forest of fallen Giants to areas like farron keep, the number of abnormally large trees, *archtrees*, if you will, are much much more numerous then ever before. And third though certainly not least, dragons are returning as prominent figures. Aside from the five major ones, it is implied (and validated thanks to the two guarding the main gate of Lothric castle) that there are a large number of dragons bound to Lothric. Even in archdragon peak we see plenty simply living there as if it's the most normal thing in the world. (There was also DS2 but I feel like that was sort of the first hint that times are changing.) So let's recap for a second. Dragons are starting to truly establish themselves in the world, a world filled with grey crags and archtrees. The world is largely, you could say, becoming more and more unformed. What's the difference, then, between now and the beginning of the first game? The first flame. My theory is this: The world is literally burned out. It has been trying to reset itself assumedly through the age of dark. It is also safe to assume its part of the healing and refueling process, however man continues to link the flame, drawing out the struggle. I imagine it's fair to guess that the cycle of linking the fire has gotten shorter and shorter between the first game and now, to the point where it's akin to someone just throwing matches into a pile of cinder. I think this is the answer behind things such as ludaleth's nightmares and the darksign in the sky. The world is trying to say stop. NB4 how could a glorified hunk of rock give nightmares in a word filled with magic?

  • @android19willpwn

    @android19willpwn

    7 жыл бұрын

Well, the King of Storms was explicitly stated to be a storm DRAKE, which was used in the fight against the dragons. Also all dragons that we've seen which are actually stated to be dragons have had four legs in addition to wings (thought he number of wings does change). All drakes have had two, in addition to some number of wings. The drakes in Lothric castle only have two legs, and thus are drakes. The ancient dragon (I assume the one from DS2) is a dragon. Well, it's supposed to be. Prevailing theory is that it was made using a giant's soul and dragon bones, seeing as that's what it drops and it's referred to as being fake by some NPCs.

You said that Yuria implied Kaathe was dead. Well, english is not my native language, but I could swear I heard the guy in the DLC trailer say: "at last, the ashes of Kaathe!" It would make sense for me that he (the guy), as a servant of a "lady" of the painted world, would need to aquire/retrieve the ashes of Kaathe for some purpose. I say that because I have this theory, that Londor IS the painted world. I mean, what better place to build a kingdom of hollows based on a faith around Velka? It would explain why it's "restored" and not in ruins in the trailer. And also, the game says that the three sisters found the Sable Church, not stumble upon it, implying that they were looking for it. Think about it, it's Dark Souls, nothing is meaningless, so why would they not include the building that the painting is in, in Anor Londo (on DS3)?

  • 7 жыл бұрын

For me, it's likely that Aldrich or the Pointiff destroyed the building and hid the painting, but the three sisters found it and organized a force against the gods with those exiled by them. And Velka is probably who they follow, alongside with Kaathe, to bring a true age of dark and put an end to this linking of the flame business. Not by leting it fade alone, for DS2 proved that isn't permanent, but by usurping it, keeping it safe and away from the world, so dark can descend and the age of mankind can finaly begin.

  • 7 жыл бұрын

Also, if this theory holds, it makes sense for the people of Londor to want to collect the god's souls in the lord vessel, destroying them (like probably shown in the trailer). To end this long coment, one last piece of speculation, if the sisters are, in fact, seeking and killing the lords/gods, the fire keeper must be the third mysterious one, sending you after all of them, much like Yuria. Remember, in the opening cinematic of DS3, we caught her just putting that crown, with a freaking dark sign, on her eyes and assuming the role of firekeeper. Who do you think killed all those fire keepers, dead in the shrine? She's an impostor!

  • 7 жыл бұрын

And that ending where you betray her, could mean you discovered the truth. One could especulate further about you, again, being manipuladed by a lady of a dark land, but THAT would be purely especulative. Anyway, hope you read this little theory of mine and liked. I love yours! Keep up the good work, you complete my already great Soulsborne experience. :)

Lol, I just randomly found out that when you appear at the Undead Settlement Bonfire and kill those dogs before they can be released on the Undead outside the gate, that those very same undead will not harm you. It's nothing spectacular, but I find it somewhat interesting that for some reason those select few trying to get into the settlement, do not wish to harm you on sight.

I think that's really cool that the reversed sound clip for the sages is 'release me now' considering everything talking about the crystal sphere says that they consume the users will.

I️ didn’t know the warrior at the shrine had a hidden storyline that was really awesome! There’s a lot of depth and story to these characters, the only bummer is you have to know how to unlock it

Has anyone told you to do a "Souls-like" series video about Nioh yet? Because it's literally the best Souls-style game ever made, solely based off the beta.

Nioh is like the perfect blend of Ninja Gaiden and Dark Souls, I was blown away by how good it was. I've been playing Bloodborne a lot to get my fix since the demo ended, but I'm really just counting down the days until Nioh is finally out.

jakeinator21 I feel like it's more of a combination of Ninja Gaiden and Bloodborne, to be honest. It's got a big emphasis on speed, plus it twists Bloodborne's HP recovery but with Stamina, which gives it its own unique twist, among others. My favorite twist being the way the game handles bloodstains/players who have died in the worldspace. I don't wanna spoil it for anyone who picks this up blind at release ;)

If you give the crows an undead bone shard, they give you a crappy shield with a pig on it and the description basically says that knights who wield that shield are idiots and are always made fun of
