In case the parry walk eventually gets patched out, there's a pyromancy in Belfry Sol called Immolation, which lights your entire body on fire. Not rain, nor snow, now gloom of night can put it out. Now riddle me this: if the torch is in your pocket and you're on fire, doesn't that technically mean the torch is lit too?

I love how many minor touches ds2 has that seem to exist exclusively to kneecap super specific runs. This is the first time I ever even thought about the rain in the looking glass knights arena

I think the real reason the rain is there, aside from the aesthetic, is because Looking Glass Knight does Lightning damage and rain lowers your lightning res by 15%

Torches really show off the impressive lighting this game hides.

If you watch some of the early footage of the game showing things like the bonfire in the forest of the giants lighting up, the lighting was gonna be a big part of the game that got cut. Things like the invisible hollows that leave shadows and the billions of sconces littered around are leftovers from it

@@heybro4000 I think the invisible hollows were added in SOTFS ? Anyway, the darker areas look pretty great when lit up imo like the Gutter and NMW, but some areas just look really flat in both lighting and colouring

It's also got impressive performance, runs flawless 60 fps on my potato laptop (although at 720p) but dark souls 1/remastered struggles to keep 30

Looking Glass Knight single-handedly saved us from having to go through enraged Undead Crypt and Shrine of Amana without rolling, respect

Y'know, between the clothes and the ability to keep a torch lit indefinitely, you make for a pretty convincing desert sorceress

This has to be one of the more creative runs i have seen I did see Backlogs doing it too but more people trying it out is really cool

I was beyond confused, Pursuer was not feeling it for this one.

I really love DS2's torch mechanic. So beautiful and the lightning is gorgeous in darker areas.

Same actually. There were some Mirror Knight skips that were promising. After testing it was a bummer dying falling down the elevator, or just hitting the rain.

Such a strange game, a lot of ideas good/half-baked, or both. It's like a melting pot of test kits; Volumetric Lighting, Power Stance, Soul Memory, NG+ Differences, Weapon Infusions and so much more.

From the pre-release videos, it was clear they wanted many areas to be darker than they were so that you would require a torch to see. that's also why there are so many torch stands for you to permanently light up. Wouldn't even have been that far fetched since DS1 had the Tomb of Giants, but nevertheless it was abandoned.

You know, I've played a lot of ds2, and I've never once seen that plunge animation on the salamanders. That's super cool that they have a unique animation for it.

While having the editing style inspired by ymfah, I think you and him both have their own kind of way to make a video: Ymfah was more about "telling a story through music and visual that also mixed with comedy in it", while you went for the "comforting and relaxing guide that doesn't get repetitive paired with usual funny jokes co-operated into the journey".

I love how there's always one gachi sound clip per video.

This is a great tip, she was in the planning but revoked as smelter solved that quickly. Also had the idea of the Hollow thieves at Huntsman's, they drop them often.
