Also, shout out to you both for bringing proper Urdu to your audience, what a far cry from most content producers, yoututbers from Pakistan whose verbiage comes across as pretentious and unsophisticated , this was so soothing and enriching to hear the proper language

Both videos on Coke Studio is full of great insights and knowledge. Learned a lot and the nuance based discussion on display here was thoroughly refreshing. Again as others have pointed out Ali Raj’s Urdu is beautiful and very pleasant surprise for me to see in young people today. Also I am proud to say that I know Mohsin Changezi as he is my neighbour in Quetta and I also belong to Hazara community as Mohsin Changezi.

2 Nobodies are trying to stain only positive production that is presenting Pakistan's positive image globally. Clearly, this podcast is agenda driven to stir unnecessary controversies. Such incidents take place all around the world but you will never see people doing this sort of shit. And I am pretty sure that this guest has landed from Mars to Earth just yesterday. The entire world knows CS India is trying to copy CS Pakistan Season 14 in visual aspect and here this gentleman is telling us the CS Pakistan has "Surrendered" to CS India. Such a shame.

This is a riveting conversation and thank you for approaching CS with the seriousness it deserves. However a few comments 1. There is no objective definition of what is or isn’t “good” music. What may sound to be as a “new age” unpolished songwriting, is precisely why it may be liked. The whole reason the Pakistani pop scene burst massively in India WAS that there was a raw authenticity to singers like Atif/Jal/Roxen that wasn’t in India. Atif is of course an untrained singer, however, even a Sonu Nigam, or a Javed Bashir cannot sing Woh Lamhe. That music in this convo is being judged through an objective lens, comes across as naive to me. Some off handed terms being used to describe new age singers also seem very dismissive by Ali bhai. 2. The videos being a tad too forced resonated with me. However, I will say, that to imply that “2AM isnt saying anything that deep” is again a fallacy. What is, or isn’t deep is for a listener to judge. Its supposed to be a personal interpretation. So while I can see your points around the first bit, the second seems a little off mark. In any case; these cant be judged first objective facts, and should be clarified as such. 3. I still can’t believe these songs are recorded live. Post-processing or not, I still do not believe it. Because if they have actually gone ahead and recorded this live, its an unbelievable win. To have such intricate recordings, which are so well produced, so clean, and then say all of them are live ? That elevates this to the best of the best productions in the world imo. If that truly is the case, then I do not understand how you guys just skip over this as a addendum at the end. This should be the most important part of the discussion. That sets a new benchmark to Pakistani music production that shouldnt just be glossed over. All in all, great discussion, but hopefully Ali Raj can open up his mind a little broader and allow for subjective interpretations. Otherswise it gives a “Boomer rants against kids” vibe which is ironical given Ali’s so much younger than Xulfi Bhai.

As an Indian, we don't get much of this information, so thank you, KZread algorithm, for recommending this video! I also think Rafay Mahmood is sharing a lot of his own opinions. He should clarify his ideology by saying that according to him, Season 15 looks like forced storytelling. This problem exists in India and other countries as well, where forceful opinions can influence people, especially in this age of influencers. I really like Ali Raj's perspective and feel that in the middle, he was just agreeing with Rafay because he was on his podcast. I wish to hear more from Ali Raj about Coke Studio music. It would be great if both individuals didn't agree on every point they discuss, as it felt one-sided. Initially, Ali Raj tried to present a balanced view, but later on, Rafay's forceful opinions dominated.

good discussion Rafay, Ali Raj is excellent and brings a holistic view on art and culture of the region, you two also have a good understanding of the brand play in the background, that said "brand" as a function and as a concept has evolved drastically in the last two decades, and in that storytelling, revealing the place and process of brith etc, are intrinsic to any image building initiative as well as elevating the cause, the question I would raise is whether Coke Studio can be a brand on its own? i-e it's not dependant on marketing budget of a beverage brand, (though in this case it's the biggest beverage company in the world), how will that affect its direction viz artist selection, music and fusion, will it be as extravagant as it is now, specially season 15, compete with music labels? Is it at that point now? Is there a sustainable business model ?

Firstly, really interesting conversation, Secondly, I really liked the color combination of the things.. i dont know if you did that on purpose or not but it feels very pleasant to the eyes. For instance, Ali Raj has white coffee mug that matches your shirt color and Rafay's coffee cup resembles Ali's outfit. Also the background wall for Ali is the same as the flowers on Rafay's shirt. So jesy guftugu apas me ghul rahi hai wesy hi tasveer bhi. Ya shayed me kuch zyada hi soch rha hun hahahaha.

Do you think that CS focusing on video and visuals more than the music (which has been very mid this season), and CS videos getting views in the start as soon as they get uploaded bcz of them being in the ad of every other KZread video and then views becoming stagnant, (i.e, whole focus on video and views than music), is because of the fact that Xulfi would be getting major share out of KZread earnings?

Personal opinion there. The music in my view is and always will be the MAIN thing. If the music is not up to standard then the views on the videos will not be as high as they are. I've liked 80% of the released songs so far, fantastic music.

I wasted my time here!! The only good thing coming out of Pakistan and you guys are trying to bank through it by digging useless dirt. If four-five people even try to do a project , many differences, issues and political complications of getting permits and all come in between...this is a grand project where thousands of people have been involved!! It is bound to encounter accidents like fires and break downs or personal erratic behaviors disrupting the process!! What is the big deal in that?? I completely disagree with the whole conversation and stand by Coke Studio as a pure fan!! Plz donot try to smear the only thing that make us Pakistanis proud!! I would say quit it and back off!!
