The old Dark Of The Moon voyager class Megatron was actually amazing. The studio series Meg is really sick, especially that he comes with Igor. But the old one wasn't bad at all. I still have it and I love it. And I really like how they added the translucent bit behind his head, so if any kind of light goes through his eyes glow red. But otherwise both of them are great.

Megatron had the time of his life and blessed the rains down in Africa. Then he died when he left Africa. Megatron hear the drums echoing tonight But he hears only whispers of some quiet conversation He’s coming in, 12:30 flight The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide Megatron towards salvation I stopped an old Sentinel Prime along the way Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies Sentinel turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you" It's gonna take a lot to drag Megatron away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do He bless the rains down in Cybertron Gonna take some time to do the things we never had (ooh, ooh) - Cybertron, by (Cybertronic) Toto

Wow! That was a surprisingly great Hugo Weaving Megatron and Optimus impression. Took me by surprise. That “Time to find out” was great! Your review is great as well! Never got the 2011 Megatron but just got the studio series and agree it’s pretty fidgety but I don’t have the budget for a third party Megs 😂

I'm good with the DotM Voyager. Granted, they pulled a similar stunt to the toys of the 1986 Generation 1 Movie in that the DotM Voyager was more based on earlier concept art than the final onscreen product (the craptastic DotM MechTech Voyager Optimus probably was, too), but it works better for me for my collection. The Studio Series one is a craptastic, panel heavy, hollow mess that's only got size going for it. And the head of the Voyager was so tiny to accommodate that cloak; a similar thing happened with Animated's "Samurai Prowl" in that the head was noticeably smaller than the original Animated Prowl to accommodate the helmet that went on his noggin upon armoring up.

sorry im late after a year, but sentinel can kick his ass..it take 2 guys to bring him down..perhaps it is megatron oversight thinking he can kill optimus afterward,but the damn sentinel is op even is cartoon..

The head could be more rusty, the big hand is missing that he has, the double hinch knee is annoying but the body is great, the cloaf(?) Could be replaced by homeworkers that has fun with that but i want a Masterpiece version of this megatron.

I always feel like the way DOTM Megatron holds his shotgun feels like a tiny G1 nod to G1 Megatron in his gun mode where others would wield and shoot with him 👉👉👉

I have the Voyager, which I got second hand from my nan. The face is missing, the left black outer grill is missing and the Mech-Tech weapon is non-existent.

To make that panel go in easier you know the shot point of the knee yeah make that at the bottom of the truck with all the cables and then it should be easier

Pain is when 3rd Party Companies have upcaled and improved SS Movie 1&2 Megs but not DOTM Megs.

shout out to you to manage to transform him, i broke one peg when doing that...for the record i only transform him once,he is not fun to play,ugly transformation,and i hate how the truck is really "empty"...voyager one is superior one in term of play,and sturdy too..

So I re-watched Megatron's scenes and the studio series paint on the head is actually accurate!, But the CGI model made it look waaay better

yknow, the voyager doesnt look like dotm megatron, however (but for the small head) it DOES look like a cool megatron in a vacuum!

Honestly, I don't think either of these figures really hit the mark fully, which is a shame because DOTM Megs is my favourite movie Megatron design alongside TLK and the BBM Concept. It's a design that tells a story. Beaten and worn, covering his wounds with a cloak, without his fusion canon, hiding in africa with not only an earth mode, but a truck. He looks apocalyptic, which fits considering it's Megatron at his lowest. That's not to say either of these figures are bad, they both have really strong points. Studio Series has a cool looking and accurate robot mode, but the voyager is just more fun and complete feeling especially in altmode. I still hope one day we'll see a mainline DOTM Megatron that fully lives up to such an awesome design, especially with how much Studio Series has improved since this release

The proportions on the voyager figure is not as good, but the engineering and kibble management is better. (Still like the studio series better)

I spent about 5 hours doing an airbrush and paint job on my voyager Megatron and it looks so much better for it. Shame Hasbro made such a terrible job of the paint.

Hot take, I like the DOTM Voyager more than the SS one. DOTMV has weird proportions but they work for the figure, even if its not accurate. The SS one just has too much chonk going on and is less fun to play with. That being said, Unique Toys Desperado is my favorite "toy" version of DOTM Megatron. Perfect robot mode and actually transforms, even if its an absolute menace lol.

The studio series jetfire’s colors has the same problems, WAY TOO MUCH SILVER

I honestly prefer the original voyager after handling both. Sure, it's not accurate, but I like how the truck parts integrate in the robot mode whereas the studio series feels like it's cheating.

I just have one question. Does the Voyager have clear plastic besides the head? I noticed how behind the head (the red part at 5:35) also has a similar red to the head, so I’m just curious to know. Even then however, that’s not too bad for clear plastic at all if it is clear plastic.
