I'm currently writing a story about a man who is slowly turning mad while wandering a desert of black stone, searching for the murderer of his wife and unborn child. This track fits the vibe of the story incredibly well - thank you!!

What I love about your music is that it's rarely...overly loud. Or maybe bombastic would be the better word. It's hard to explain. It has a sort of subtle, quiet complexity that builds in the background, and doesn't immediately grab your attention. You can tune it out while writing, for example, and yet it still profoundly affects the atmosphere in the room. Stop for a moment and listen, and you realize it runs a lot deeper than the superficial first impression. Mind you, The Untold and some other pieces are exceptions. They're very hard to ignore.

Exactly this song and "The Beast Within" are some of my all time favourites by Greg for that very reason. I am not the biggest fan of songs that turn super bombastic. I love the calm sounding ones and those where you can feel the emotions. Other good examples are "Dystopia" or an older one "Before Time".

@@coredefect6134 I'm interested on how you would then explain the rise of new empires and nations that forcefully liberate and muscle themselves into establishment. For example, the queen of england wasn't foolish, yet she very much had that conqueror quality. She didn't force the crown on her head in the beginning, but other countries don't ask to be invaded and put under her rule. The main point I want to outline here is where do we draw the line? Is a strong arm take over more foolish than the king of a weak nation, unable to defend it? I would argue that a seemingly wise king who is unable to unite his country; plan, defend, foresee and address the things that threaten his country and his rule is no wise king to begin with.

It was too late. The warnings were too few, the lords too ignorant, the security of the realm too lax. There came a tide of dark purple, puss brown and burnt flesh that emerged from the scar of the earth at the centre of the continent of Elvenkind. A tide of endless rage, a storm of anger. Their endless howls could turn even the most stalwart to cowards. They had no time to mourn, not a second to spare. For a cut warped the mortal races from the kind and gentle to the mad and ravenous. There would be nothing left, there would be not a goodly soul left waling the brightened woods and sailing the clear oceans. They were coming and to the rest of the world it all seemed harmless.

"The crown is never just a symbol of power. It is power. With this golden crown lying atop your head, you can both pardon and condemn the very souls of those whom you once called peers, friends, uncles, fathers, mothers. With a wave of your hand, you can build mighty armies to tear down all those who would seek to oppose us or forge unbreakable alliances and bonds out of the kingdoms beyond our walls. You can create new traditions and beliefs that will live on through the blood of your descendants and your people. It is not a burden that many have the strength to bear. But you, my son, are more than just your title. You are the glory and hope that shall carry our bloodline to salvation. Your name will live on; not for years, or centuries, but eons."

Don't mind me dropping this here- If someone wants to read this, here's some background info: This is the pov of a prince from a fantasy world of mine. His race has wings and have been nomadic for most of their time, only having settled down a few years ago. This prince is the recessive gene child of the family, which caused him many problems. He's had enough. Filled with rage he stormed into his room, knocking over a chair and throwing his drawings on the floor. He slammed the door shut, which would have resulted in a broken door, if his arm wasn't in such a bad condition. Letting out a frustrated sigh he let himself fall into his bed. He gently rubbed his now hurting arm. His usually light pink skin had patches of dark red spread across his shoulder to his left hand. It was a condition he was born with, something that no doctor had a treatment for. All they gave him was that "He will live to his 17th birthday." phrase. “It's because of this stupid body. " he thought. "It has always been because of this stupid body. “ Once he was relaxed enough to not worry about another outburst he stood up from his bed and picked up the papers that were scattered across the room. Pencil drawings of landscapes and people like him, except, they were able to fly. They were free to do whatever they wanted and fly wherever they wanted. He has never been able to fly, because the muscles in his wings weren't strong enough. He put the papers back on his desk, which was filled with unfinished sketches and broken pencils. Oh, how many nights has he wasted, trying to please his father? How many days have gone by while he was trying to make his mother notice him? He was never good enough in their eyes. The images of his father's disappointed face and his mother's cold eyes have engraved themselves into his mind, forever reminding him of the fact that he just wasn't welcome in this family. He looked up. There was a small mirror over his desk. Painted with fine gold and his family's initials engraved into it. "Rovenzho" was written at the bottom. He looked at himself. The skin patches had crawled up to his neck, telling him that his time was near. His long hair was loosely braided and hung over his shoulder. Would it be able to touch the floor in a few months? His brother and him had promised to keep their hair long so that they could braid their hair together, to never loose the connection to one another. It was usually a tradition for weddings, but they were so innocent at that time. They thought that nothing could stand in their way. Oh, how wrong they were. In a quick motion the prince hat taken the knife out of his drawer and cut his hair. A long braid was now dangling from his healthy hand. A promise had been broken. He had enough of his brother's antics, the way he had to act like a doctor for him all the time, and yet his brother never listened to his woes. His brother never did. The young adult took his coat and packed some dried meat. Taking another look in the mirror he said his final goodbyes before shattering said object with his crown. He won't come back anytime soon.

I am running a DnD campaign, and pretty soon a critical NPC will explain an important piece of history to the characters: when a new house sailed to the continent among ships, and dragonback. A winged shadow was cast over the capitol, as Adrocoles Tarmyr soared overhead mounted on the Greatdragon Placidussax. Spewing fire and red lightning from the dragon’s maw, the capitol was swiftly taken, as was the rest of the continent. That was some time ago, but the bones of the Greatdragon still lie below the keep of the new capitol, remaining still to this day.

"You are the last living heir of the First Empire, Ophelia; the Golden Age of Eon. You, and you alone hold the answers to the Black Sun's final demise, and the purification of this entire galaxy. Only then can the balance between Efrinay and Yanirfé be restored."

Cyrrently writing a story where a young girl is forced to marry a mad king and she started going as mad as him, but she met a knight who give her a little boy, and now her only purpose is to put him on the throne, no matter what, perfect playlist to describe how she's slowly starting to lose her mind...
