For a dying race, the Eldar sure do seem eager to throw their brothers into the Avatar sacrificial meat grinder.

Well to them at least it is better for them to sacrifice themselves to Khaine to gain an avatar that could help them in battle rather than having their soul go to Slaneesh to be eternally tortured.

tbf, they only sacrifice exarchs. These guys are essentialy space rambos, and have already sacrificed themselves to war, long ago.

And unfortunately the Avatar of Khaine gets beaten up a lot in the lore. I remember one of the old Space Marine codexs had the Ultramarines Chapter Master beat them in single combat.

Eldar are about on the same level of screwed as the Imperium the difference is the Eldar realize it.

Yea ive just fought the eldar (as chaos) and they were not that hard to beat. What I love about this mission is that normally you are restricted to 2 predator tanks but in this mission you can get about 4

Last time I attacked this place with the Necrons, I made it real easy on myself by taking and possessing 2 Ork tanks and 2 Chaos tanks. Other than that, they do pretty well for a faction. Use others to fight for them, then come in and clean up.

Though in this case it doesn't seem to work because both Orks and Chaos will also attack the Eldar when given the opportunity, especially Chaos which even to this day I have to wonder just how the hell did Taldeer's Warlocks manage to trick a Chaos cult into setting up a base by them, you think the two being mortal enemies would have been a different faction all together.

Taking this base down is one of the most hateful things i've ever had to do out of all the dawn of wars combined! Their main base is extremelly well defended.

@@lightorchestrator Nah man that timer is just for when you win. You see all you have to do is hold the three portals and defend them, which is easy to do if you split your forces up evenly.

@@williambragg6171 It's surprisingly easy if you're Imperial Guard, just assemble a line of Basilisks to slowly clean out the turrets and vehicles that keep spawning new Fire Prisms then mop up with a Baneblade and some Leman Russes, plus a Vindicare to help speed up killing the extremely high HP Avatar and Farseer.

Actually, it was Slaanesh that was created by the Eldar. Their pursuit of excess and the degregation of their society acted on the Warp which manifested that excess in Slaanesh.

I killed so many eldars in this mission, I remember the map paved with their bodies

@mr5353 Yeah. A massive amount of their race was wiped out when they caused the birth of Slaanesh after having a massive elf-orgy, which also managed to open up the eye of terror.

I remember on my first playthrough of this game (Using Orks) I lucked out and managed to avoid this assault because the Blood Ravens beat it for me.

I have nothing against The Eldar, but they're very Fragile. their many unique skills and abilities however... Put those in capable hands and you've got the solution to almost any battle. But it's still nothing when staring down the barrel of a Railcannon. For The Greater Good.

@anotherinternetter well,kronus was a tomb world.and if there's one thing the eldar hate its the necrons.in dow 2:retri you find out thats taldeers mission.she had the location of tomb worlds near ulthwe.self defence.but even without that,the eldar almost always have a good reason for going to war.

That and all factions are very powerful if you know what you're doing. That's the way it is with strategy and tactics.

Yeah, 99 percent of all Eldar throughout the Galaxy died as a result of Slaanesh being born, it'd be like if Armageddon occured on Earth and most of Humanity was killed by its effects. The fact that the surviving Eldar are as well organized as they are says something about their resilency......

Pretty sure that feeling you felt could be experienced in the original DoW1 and Winter Assault where such limitations didn't exist yet.

It makes the Eldar think they are invincible when they are around the avatar

Well in the game they don't suffer from morale damage and their production is twice as fast as well as being able to field more than usual as long as the Avatar's in play, it can make you feel invulnerable which is why whenever the Avatar is in play it tends to be the first thing focused down.

Its the Eldars fault for Slaanesh, with them being perverted and debase etc, but that also enabled the Emperor to begin his crusade having seen it coming.

Then again, in this game, they are the bravest. Chaos and Space Marine Commanders basically start crying, when they lose, Orc and Tau run away, Necrons have an "oh shit"-Ending and the Imperial Commander doesn't even show up. The Eldar Commander is the only one, who stands and fights.

FUCK THIS MISSION, especially when you're playin on hard difficulty. Also, the Eldar don't really have a lot of choice when it comes to getting involved in wars, because everyone else in the galaxy is generally hostile to them. Plus, it's implied in the fluff that Eldar rely on having air and space superiority whenever they fight a large-scale war, as opposed to 40k scale skirmishes. So in theory, the typical proportion of casualties they suffer should be much lower than in a typical 40k game.

Eldar are cool. I mean, they are ancient, normally way more clever than their enemies, they can kill with their MIND and in their best days, they partied so hard, they actually created a new Chaos god. But for some reason, they are not quite as awesome as the other races in Warhammer 40k.

The eldar use other races as tools because they cant risk losing to many of thier own men.There is like only 100 million eldar struggling for survival in the galaxy while theres 100 trilion humans on terra alone.

Chaos CAN sacrefice their Squad Leader ^^ Eldar in Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War dont need to sacfrefice anything for teh Avatar (only in SinglePLayer they Do o.o)

If you dont have artillery, there is no way in hell you can win this map by destroying the eldar base. Taking the wraithgates is the only way. Or you can make 3 basilisks and rape 'em and LAUGH.

I've done this stronghold with all of the factions including Necrons, there's three ramps up to that base, make use of them to oversaturate the defenses.

A really unEldar ending! They usually set things right, complete their objective and flee leaving the planet for the taking (see their SS ending) if it no longer holds interest for them!

This is the cutscene you get when you attack their stronghold, meaning they were pushed back to said stronghold, their objective isn't done which in the case of Dark Crusade was to STOP the Necrons as the Eldar and the Necrons have always been at war with each other for as long as either side can remember, anything else was secondary to that main objective.

Eldar = Stealth and Raiding Emeny Base imperial Guard = High Moral and high Guns Space marine = Orbital weaponory Chaos = Very High Break Moral orks = Strong in Forces Necrons = Use only Energy Tau empire = High in Techology but very young

With the Imperial Guard, I just needed enough Leman Russ, Basiliscs and of course the Baneblade and Kasrkin to defeat the Eldar. I buried them in an artillery barrage and marched in their base :).

What's with all these other aliens around. Too many mon keighs and barbarians on our own vids........just kidding :).... please continue.

maybe in Darck Crusade they rock but: Dawn of War thy SUCK!!! and i love bashing them in Multy player with Space Marines...and well...thy even dont know waht hit them
