Just an idea: make one of the Mapinguari! This is a mythological figure known by almost all Amazonian indigenous peoples. It is a giant with red fur, long claws and a single eye. People are really afraid of Mapinguari, they think it protects the forests. Some paleontologists suggest it was inspired by fossils of pre-historic Giant Sloths found by those peoples. If you see a Giant SLoth skull, it really looks like a single-eyed monster!
