Former top-10 player Daria Kasatkina spent a couple of years in a prolonged "sophomore slump" - a crisis that usually occurs with young players after a big breakthrough.
In 2021, Kasatkina's crisis ended: since the beginning of the year, she has halved the rating, winning two WTA titles in a month (before that, two in her entire career). At the end of this shock segment, Daria met Sports.ru and the host of "Match TV" Sonya Tartakova in her native Togliatti and told:

Смотрел второе подряд интервью после Насти. Хочу отметить умение Софьи разговорить человека, причем вопросы очень интересные, а ,подчас, и очень щекотливые.Одним словом, Софья- большая молодец!
This is so much more real than most western media sport documentaries I've seen. Great interviewer asking hard questions, as well as the obvious ones that people would want to know. And Dasha being honest in her replies, even about difficult and personal stuff. The Rublev one was good too. Really good stuff 🙂

It's definitely interesting to find out more about one of the most intriguing players out there on the WTA Tour, great to see her playing well again. However, I was really astonished by the brilliant interviewer, her questions were amiable, extremely professional, yet intimate at the same time, making for a very pleasant and informative watch. Not only about tennis, but everything surrounding the player themselves. Will definitely be watching more of this lady's interviews!

Fascinating! I learned so much about the way the life of a professional tennis player unfolds--the many, many difficult choices a player must make! And all this while you're really still just growing up! Kudos to you, Ms. Kasatkina. You travelled some tough roads, made some difficult choices, but, I think, you've made the right choices--especially now, as we see them paying off for you in August 2022!

I also thought it was more honest and realistic than a lot of sports journalism i catch (that's very little). Very brave to come out in the face of Russian LGBT suppression and the Ukraine disaster at her back. Now I'm even happier she won at Granby today!

Amazing video she has been through a lot she will continue to get better and have more confidence. It is very good she has her Brother to protect her from all the bad things that could come her way. Живу в Тольятти, учился в 80- е в 10 квартале , в той школе про которую брат Даши рассказывал, реально в 90-е очень много от героина ушло в мир иной
