I lost my father when I was 5, I lost my mother when I was 21, I graduated from University and I was in Lagos for 3years, no job, no food, no place to stay. I would sleep wherever the night catches me, life was extremely tough and I almost lost it, I hated my existence, I questioned God everyday.... I cried under blanket all night when no one sees me. Just when I said to myself I’m done with it all, this awesome God stepped in.... (hmmmmm...Sobssss!). I got a job I never had in mind, he turned my life around, today I am married to a lovely woman with 3 wonderful children, all living in America(not that America is everything but to tell you that our God can take you where you never ever imagined). Imagine if someone told me everything will be alright and they will be what they are today, I would have said forget it, nothing good can ever come out it. But then God is still God no matter what! Darey, did you see the journey of my life to make this song? please tell me... bcos right now I can't explain how it all happened, perhaps God himself prayed for me, Heaven answered me.... (Sobsss!) Sam Adebayo God knows that you had nobody to pray for you so he took care of every thing for you.Besides there are some parents who are never happy with what their kids want to do,they oblige their children to accomplish things as they (parents) want.this is selfishness,God knows better for each of us.African parents are most likely concerned by this kind of behavior.they are barely happy with what they kids choose to do and it becomes a curse,although every parents should pray for their kids,then God has the final word. be blessed.

This was my inspiration the day i left home the day i left Nigeria on road to Morocco Rabat in 2016 my dad warned me but i was determine to make it as a young man praise be to Yeshua i made it in Rabat Morocco and i came back to Nigeria as a big man and since then i have visited 26 Countries. Great song. A couple of people asked what it means or it should have ended with him being successful. well let me explain, when he was leaving home his father did not want him to leave and when he would not listen he told him you are on your own. Getting to the city things turned out difficult and he realized he indeed had hurt his father and needed his blessings for things to turn around for him. so when his father got the letter and lifted his hands to heaven to pray then the heavens where open and things began to breakforth, the flowers blossomed and the earth gave increase an indication of a new dawn for His son

The song bring tears 😭 to my eyes 4 years ago this was how I went to my mom and told her am traveling to Libya 🇱🇾 she told me it’s risky but she prayed for me and I moved on after some weeks I was arrested in Libya my mom was rushed to the hospital I spent 4 months without hearing from my family there was a night I saw my mom in my dream she was crying the next day I escaped from the prison now am in Europe may God bless each and everyone of us that is fighting to make a change in their families

Lost my dad when i was 6, grew up in poverty. My mother would work in other people`s maize fields just to make sure that we got food and clothes. I remember crying the other day when we were planting maize for someone just to get the money for my first laptop, the sun was scotching, we were thirsty and hungry . I told God that we have suffered enough please make a way....I graduated from University in 2017 and i`m now working. I will not stop fighting for the sake of my mom. Never gets old!! Without any exaggerations, I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME I listen to this song. Reminds me of how my sisters and I watched my mom breathe her last in the hospital, after suffering kidney complications for months. My sisters were in UNI, they somehow felt this push to come back home that very day... We met at the hospital coincidentally that fateful evening without having any plans of meeting there, or informing each other that we'd visit her that day, just a wild coincidence. Apparently, her spirit was calling for her children to see her one last time... (SOBS!) We prayed, we cried, we sang and worshipped, and as we worshipped in those last few minutes, she struggled one last time, and her suffering in this world ended, leaving us all alone, confused, sad, without any direction or clues as to what lies ahead... we were so much younger, confused and broken, terrified of how the future would be without our backbone and comfort... My world literally crumbled, my dad lost his job exactly one month after her death, and it's been a tussle for the past 9 years. How I managed to go through school, I don't know... it's been, God. I miss her every day. This song makes me feel like there was more I could have done, but also lets me understand that we must suffer pain to grow.. this was my pain... I'm not living my best life now, at least not yet, but I know things can only get better from here on. DAREY, GOD BLESS YOU FOR THIS! Thank you!!!!

This reminds me of my journey on how I got fade up in Nigeria so I got myself a Malaysia visa without my family knowing. They only found out when it was out. I thought life was easy there and so I left. I must says it's not really been easy living outside Nigeria. It's been 3 years and 8 months now. Doing all sorts to survive but God has been faithful. Mom and dad were killed and tomorrow 9.09.2022 will be exactly 6 months since they went to heaven. Before they died things have always been pretty difficult with my family. Today I travelled for the first time abroad. It feels like I had broken the family curse or something. After watching this video, I can only but comprehend and appreciate. I think just like Dareys' dad, my mom and dad died cuz they had to reach heaven to open the all closed doors so my crops too can shoot, sprout and grow.

this is me right now. after my bsc as a nurse. being a medical doctor is everything i have ever wanted. my parents told me they dont have money anymore to train me abroad for the second time. i used my last cash got visa,got my ticket i said i will do it just pray for me daddy and mummy. am now in a medical school some days no food but at least i am happy i am moving an inch ahead without hope of getting help from anyone even though paying my fee is very difficult. something keeps me going and i will return home a medical doctor hopefully. Few years ago, I was the only child to my parents (mom was heavily pregnant). One night nigga chased us out claiming his mom (my grandmother told him my mom was a witch), he walked kilometres to my mom's friend. Mom and I went back to her village, stayed with her grandmother. Life was a mirage, we had nothing. The only clothes we had were the ones we were wearing, No money (You need money to survive in South Africa). Long story short: Im now pursuing my 3rd degree, my mom got remarried to an amazing man. My younger brother is going to Secondary school. With my parents divorcing, My mom scored over 6 million rands in settlements. Aint that GOD doing HIS works❤

Darey is like you sang this song for me😢 this is the story of my life, it's been 20 years since I lost my dad things has not be easy life was so hard😢so many times my mom will sleep with empty belly just for me an my siblings to eat sometimes i ask God why, on a very good day i asked my mom to pray for me am leaving home, she prayed for me with tears rolling down her eyes we were both crying 🥺 i left hom searching for greener pastures, I was trying to cross to the other side of the world through desert, ,our car brake down in the middle of desert nobody is coming nobody is going i run out of water and food,to cut it short i started losing strength i couldn't walk anymore i fell down, i look up to the sky it was faraway i look down a hute tears roll down my eyes 😭i cry to God for mercy, and God answer me with a drop of rain and thunder in the middle of desert, that was when i realised God is reall and with me. today am in europe✊ ...God is real This is my life story

This song is so emotional. My dad passed four years ago and I missed him every day. We had a great relationship. I still love and think of you dad. If you have parents, love them, they won’t be there forever...

Frm Ghana and this song always touches my core! i lost my mum 14yrs ago, i was the stubborn amongst four kids.. she was always praying for me, i could wake up at night and see her crying whiles praying for me. even in her sick bed i broke my leg and she was always there taking care of me at the hospital at her expense. i remember the last tym i saw her at the hospital b4 she died, she ask i take care of the family. She had always wanted me to prosper so she enjoy my monies as she keeps telling me, cause of the trouble i made her passed thru. Now i am in an oil company, married yet to have a kid. and i always smile cause i know she has stored bunch of prayers working on my behalf. Anywhere u are mum, keep praying for me. LOVE YOU LOADS. I'm here after 7 years. It brought back memories of when I left to Warri to work against my dad's wishes, I worked but i wasn't paid fully or not at all. I had to go back home and thank God things later worked, though not where I wish to be, but it's better than before. But I'm here to ask that you pray for me. God bless you Darey for this song. 🙏

Reminds me of the day I left home as a young new graduate moving to a foreign country on my own! I had decided, I am an African and Africa is my home, wherever I'm going i'll find fellow Africans, and so I did! 20 years later, I've got a beautiful wife, two cute little boys and God has been great! Darey I've always said is a powerful singer from his days at Idols! Gifted son of Africa, singing with my favourite Soweto gospel Choir, with my favourite African actor playing his 'dad' in the vid! I am now even more in love in Nigeria...Africa is my home, and long shall Darey live and keep inspiring us! We are indeed a blessed people regardless of what we've been through, time to rise Africa!

My little brother left home at 17yrs to hustle in Accra, all attempt by my parents to change his mind was futile. 2yrs down the lane he's addicted to weed, depressed,lonely, filled with regrets, frustrated, not really sane anymore. We keep trying to get him back to normal but to no avail. My advice to the youth is : Be patient Listen to advice You're not always right Don't rush, else you crush. Be safe out there, thank you.💞💞

This is me in 2017 woke up on Wednesday morning told my mom that I was leaving to Ghana and the rest is history grateful I didn’t put them to shame.i own a very successful business in Ghana 🇬🇭

Remember when I got fed up of living at father’s home at age 19 after I would’ve lost my mom when I was 16. I left with no intention of going of going back. But God had a plan, he put me in the hands of my siblings who were struggling themselves. I don’t know how but God was with me all the step of the way. He brought me through so much trials, sleepless nights, pillow filled with tears by morning. I don’t know how but a life outside Christ and having one foot in and one foot out couldn’t full that emptiness inside. Money couldn’t, clothes couldn’t, food couldn’t. It was Christ who stepped down after his thrown to reach me where I was. He said my child I’ll never leave you nor forsake you😭😭😭. Lord forgive me if I’m ever ungrateful for where you’ve brought me from!!! But thanks be to God he brought me home right on time. Praises be to God. I may not be where I desire to be but I’m definitely not where I was a few years ago. Thanks be to God!!

We all have stories, especially people like us who grew up into generational poverty, if i could sing, if i could tell my story through music, I'll make the best lyrics/best song.

Its been 5years now since I was dismissed from the military and about that time this song was out and I heard it inside my cell once or twice ...when I got out I downloaded it and listened to it I cried bitterly even now in 2021 I am typing this and am still crying bitterly because when I got home I felt rejected from everyone but it didn't stop me from having faith in God ,I went back to school came out with 2.1 it didn't end there I became a bit famous due to some gigs I had after modelling activities now look at me I run an International logistics company named WHALES LOGISTICS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED but I know it's still won't end there and that God has more in stock for me ....this song still stands my motivation till forever

Didn't quite understand this song back then till I Stumbled on it today.i"m listening to it with tears flowing down my eyes.i left home 6yrs ago and it wasn't easy.yesterday I returned back home with all my stuffs and also a fractured ankle that has lasted for 9months.i hope by next year I'm fully recovered to start again.pls if you see this pray for me.

When I first heard this song seven years ago, I was in rural area-the village where I was born. I was in form 4, the last level in secondary school. Back then, I would watch and listen to music all day. What made the song special is that I used to get motivated; my mum had just passed around 2014, and the school had taken me in, so I was basically relying on everything from school to food, shelter, etc. I did find solace in music. On weekends, there was a guest house neighboring the school, where I could go and clean the place and get Ksh. 70. The rest of the day, I spent watching songs on a TV that was in the hotel's boardroom, channels I recall watching Trace Music, Hiptv, and so many other channels I don't recall others. The song used to speak, and I could relate to my situation then. I was optimistic about going to the city (Nairobi). I strongly believed that was where hope was. 7 years later, I was sitting in my house today and recalled this song, men, the time has really flown, and I thank God. I have a family, and we thank God for his life and riches. I hope this inspires someone.

If you guys get the chance to, go visit your parents because when that phone call comes that you've lost someone you love and you don't realize that three years have passed and you thought you would see that person soon but instead, you only go home to attend funerals. I am not religious and don't care for prayers but this song broke me down just because the last time I went home was for a funeral and sometimes I like the opportunity in the West but I wonder for what?

This was my anthem in my 100level in Unilag. I was lost, from classes to the library to the tutorials to overnight classes, yet I still didn't understand most of the science courses. I struggled academically, financially, sponsoring myself and all alone in Lagos. Whenever I listen to this song, I was remember those days and it gives me hope that no matter how hopeless it is, I'll pull through, just as I did before. Thank you Darey.

My life in a music, I graduated with struggles, if nothing comes my way to do in a week, I would suffer the next week from food, how about school fees, rent, how about the day I had to soak garri and would wait for it to rise, how about the day I did not eat, because no food, I remember the day I was not having anything to eat, I went to school so hungry because I didn't eat the previous day, I could not stay in class, I went to a guy I know who has a computer center inside the school, he told me to assist him with something's because students were much waiting for him to attend to them, I assisted him and everything went well, that day he bought me food, and when I told him I was going, he asked me to wait for him, he closed and we were going home together, then he squeezed money in my hand, when I got home, I saw 3,500, wow, God sent him, he was my angel... I went through a lot, what's it that I didn't do, painting, job man, filling forms for new students and intending students, helping people with assignment, typesetting, project typing, I did everything to live, I graduated, i have served now a year ago, though life is still difficult, but I know my day of remembrance will come, all the hosts of heaven and Earth will agree to bless me... I am happy for life, because my hope is alive...

I found this song today and i cried. i cried because i miss my family back in Nigeria and i know the struggle i face here as a foreigner. i experienced a racial slur for the first time in my life and i was soooo shocked. i cried because my father sends me prayers on whats-app every morning and i will never take it for granted. i pray one day we will all make our parents proud as we are faraway from them.
