It’s sick not scary
Darcy took over my "favourite rider" spot pretty instantly and that doesn't come easy. Such amazing talent. He was a future world champion for sure. So gutted about what happened to him, it really made it hard for me to even watch speedway for a while. I just didn't care any more 'cause I knew Darcy was the best so anyone else winning world titles and stuff just seemed meaningless since they didn't have to face him. I guess I may be a little biased being a King's Lynn fan and being a fan of his since he was 16, but really as I said, becoming my favourite rider doesn't come easy. So tragically sad what happened and the speedway scene will never be what it could have been if Darcy was still in the picture. I really hope he can start racing cars or something, I'd hate to see his talents go to waste.
He was the only rider who could be caught in an impossible spot on the track, fully locked up or lifting like a madman, and STILL be on the gas and find a way through. Without question the most talented and exciting rider there was in speedway. With Ward, Doyle, Holder, and Fricke as the Aussie team they would have been having a party at The Speedway of Nations.

to this day i wont watch that crash - he would have won as much a jason crump achieved and that no disrespect to jason either - i also feel chris holder lost that spark to keep going once darcy wasnt racing - he wasn't the same post darcy's crash which itself is another sad moment - Australia has a proud history in speedway hopefully it continues into 2022 and beyond - JD , JH Australian speedway fans are cheering yo on - go you good thing !!!!!!!!
