one of the few videos about right hand split-finger technique. Thanks Matt!
what a great teacher you are. magnificent work. Compliments to your gorgeous Australian accent. This came a very nice surprise. Very talented the Australian musicians.
Thank you for showing the technique so clearly. I am having lessons but find watching over and over beneficial in the way that I learn.
Thanks a lot. I have been looking for this lesson long time.
Tbh this is the best video yet. Thank you habiby

the roll is essentially one stroke with extra notes to embelish it, and if you apply this thinking to the split fingering you will get a nice type of 'rougher' roll. However, the double stroke is a different way of thinking than we are used to on the darbuka because it is adapted from the tabla which is alot more suited for this technique (horizontal vs vertical surface). start slowly and build up the speed, keep thinking of it as 2 seperate strokes that need to be at the same (high) intensity and keep the intervals consistent (by for example counting the beats or working with a metronome).
its not split finger its turkish tecnique
This technique is belong to MISIRLI AHMET.
