Each parent is responsible for the % of child support, if she has a loss of income the courts will expect her to supplement the income on her own, unless she has a good reason why she can’t work. The only way the other parent’s child support % will increase is if their income increases, at least in California but each state has their own laws on this matter. Now, if he gets custody then the courts will have to reassess the cases and determine each parent’s responsibility and visitation, etc.
