Danzig - MTV Headbangers Ball's "End Your Dirty Black Summer with Danzig" Episode (1992)
Музыка
This is the "End Your Dirty Black Summer with Danzig" episode of The Headbanger's Ball. It features interviews with all four band members plus live footage. The best thing about the interviews is how all four members of the band just want to go home and have clearly had enough of Riki's annoying questions. 11:23 is the best part.
This was also part of a contest where the winner got to fly to Germany and attend multiple Danzig shows. However, you never once see the contest winners anywhere in this episode. I've always wondered if something happened there, like the contest was canceled or something.

Ahhh...back when MTV was relevant.... 49 and still a huge Danzig fan! My love for anything Glenn Danzig started in the summer of 1985 when I was introduced to Misfits
Takes me right back to 11th grade. Still as much of a Danzig fan now as I was then. 33 years later and still enjoy not fitting in. Thanks so much for sharing!

I was 12yrs old and I was 2yrs into Danzig/Misfits/Samhain. My aunt was a punk during the 80’s. She raised me on Danzig and Black Flag. I remember wanting to do this. I’m 41 next Thursday. I listen with the same childlike wonderment now as I did then.

3:45 fucking hilarious, his voice even cracked
I remember when Riki got his haircut and every band he interviewed for the next year made a New Kids On The Block reference. Eerie was the first haha.
I have this on VHS. Special indeed.
I was 20 when this aired, great times! Damn I'm old now lol

Very good 🙂 Thank You
I certainly don't miss "90's cam"
Glenn does not care! Epic!
Funny how Glenn was annoyed by Misfits/Samhain questions when he’d later cash in on Misfits years later! They sold out Madison Square Garden in mere minutes! I did get to see the Samhain reunion…but that struck me more as something he wanted to bring for the fans as opposed to the obvious cash grab that came with the Misfits reunion! I’m not saying it was all about a cash grab…but it def came in the deal! Luckily I got to see the Misfits LV & L.A. shows! The show at the Forum had a huge after party downstairs! Free drinks/food, the works. Not to mention running into random band members and friends!
Nice
This whole thkng... og my g o d...I'm in tears this is so fucking funny....its so awkward like wtf is rikki doi n g 😂 Pretty sure Glenn is planning how to hide his body but Eerie's just chillin

Man, that live footage was epic. This lineup was the Zenith of Danzig. And wow, Glenn’s voice was incredible back then. Really a downer how he started losing it by their fourth album.

Yes “Blackacidevil” album really through me off, i still remember going to buy the new “Danzig” album & if i didn’t know it was a Danzig album i would have thought it was “Ministry” or “Nine Inch Nails” because of the much different direction Glenn chose to go which was “industrial rock”. I think Tommy Victor joined Danzig at that time & was clearly apart of the writing/recording process because Tommy Victor’s band “Prong” was industrial rock, but the Danzig “blackacidevil” album did grow on me just like the Metallica album “Load” in which a lot of people ripped on Metallica + cutting their hair pissed off a lot of the long time fans but as time went by the two Metallica albums “Load” & “Re-Load” grew on a lot of fans, not all obviously but still a lot did. As much as Glenn rips on bands for selling out he should have looked in the mirror because “blackacidevil” album was completely different than previous Danzig albums & was obviously industrial rock which was really popular during the 90’s such as “Ministry” ~ “Nine Inch Nails” ~ “Monster Voodoo Machine” ~ “Prong” etc
does anyone know where I can find a full version of the live clips shown? (if it's even out there..)
I remember watching this when I was like thirteen. I felt like Danzig didn't want to be there but I don't remember it being this bad lmao.
💃
wow
Sometimes I forgot about those moments when HBB would piss me off with Pearl Jam videos and other shit that didn’t belong on that format!
God, is there anywhere something more from that live footage?

Rikki is great but if Adam Curry did the Danzig in Germany segment, esotericism and symbolism could have been discussed. Adam works with layers, and he is also red pilled. Check out Adam's interview with Glenn, and note the up-tweak right away as chemistry is immediately established between the two. Adam really gets the symbolism and greater meanings of many things. He is also the co-founder of the podcast. Adam Curry's Joe Rogan interview was also A+ and a must see. It is on KZread. I always wondered how this segmebt woukd have differed if Adam flew to Germany and did this segment with Glenn and Eerie. Rikki grew his hair back! I saw him in the Headbanger's Ball group. But for some mysterious reason I got banned from there a few months ago. This 1992 period in Danzig was amazingly good. I love How The Gods Kill and 4p. Thrall was in that timeframe too and is often overlooked. Thank you for uploading a clean and continuous specimen if this classic MTV HBB episode. Hail Danzig; GD, EV, JC, and C f'n B.

@7:41... sorry Glenn but Böcklin - like Geiger- was Swiss, NOT German... This is amazing! I remember seeing this live in the 7 or 8 th grade!!! It was seeing the Danzig videos and hearing album cuts interspersed throughout the piece that turned me into a Danzig fan.
Well said Danzig. People and magazines can f themselves with all these questions. Glenn rules, original and honest always! No sucking up or anything! What song is it that they are rehersing @14:25 anyone? Sorry for not knowing :D
