Yeah, for people with extended families you'd probably have to move out of town if you wanted to make sure it wasn't your cousin. Between all the aunts, uncles, aunts & uncles by marriage, older married cousins, younger aunts & uncles, on both mother's & father's side, on both grandparents side... You're pretty much shooting fish in a barrel by that point. WHICH MEANS _ABSOLUTELY_ plenty people have already definitely married their cousins without ever knowing it, and many never knowing unto the day they die. And a great deal of them never had children with an extra eye , or their own Quato. Marriage between cousins is perfectly fine ...👺

Cousin does not mean one specific relation, but more like a whole category of farther relatives. And far-enough cousin is fair game, though it may not be obvious today. Think about it, for millennia people had bigger families AND traveled less than today. There just had to be some blood relation. The taboo is in place so that the eventual children are born healthy. If your cousin is 3-removed or farther, there's no *medical* reason not to go for her. Or him.
