He completely fucked his vocal chords causing him to stop screaming for a long period of time..when fans questioned why a majority of his live songs had only clean vocals he released a statement explaining that situation and after that AA kinda fell apart, Danny left, Denis came in, and well you know how shit goes lol

The Black was the album that got me into AA and the one I've listened to the most, but I also enjoy from Death to Destiny and their other albums. But I think similar to how Oli Sykes went from metalcore to alternative, is also why Danny went from metalcore to country or whatever he is doing now. Back in 2009 Danny seemed fucking awesome, but Denis also revealed the darker side of AA. IDK I like both of them but I've listened to Denis the most.

I can see your point, but as a AA fan since the beginning I’ll always love Danny over denis. Danny is the original lead vocalist and will always be number 1. Denis is great too but Danny has history and the rawness that AA needs.

In sheer vocal skills, Denis beats Danny. Sure they are different but can't argue who has more places to go. Also Denis gave AA their best album, The Black. Sure Danny is what we're used to etc but I thing they were darker with Denis, Danny is tired of the heavy stuff. I like dark stuff, AA was all about it, I miss it.

They both are very talented. IMO I like early Danny voice but he’s dealt very nicely with his voice giving in on him. And have always been a fan of denis he’s got a unique sound to him I don’t really kno how one could be better they bring very different skills to the table

I prefer Danny’s vocals in both singing and screaming. His voice just sounds better to me. However, Denis is a better vocal influence for me, as his range and vocal clarity are very similar to mine.

I love both voices. It's unbelievable how Danny sounded awesome in a live concert with low quality sound, that's how incredible he was in his prime. I think Denis is more charismatic than Danny. Thanks for sharing bro, this is wonderful. Thumbs up.

Stand up and scream as it was originally recorded had the best vocals I can remember hearing currently. Neither artist can duplicate the vocals on that record, in my opinion. Danny fucked up his vocal chords too much so he'll never sound like that again and Denis is good, but just not the same as the original record. It's all highly subjective though. Stand up and Scream is still their best record, and maybe one of my top all time records.

Tienes razón, si hablamos de scream y gutural danny tiene un mejor sonido que el de denis, pero acuérdate que esos mismo screaming y guturales, tanto de técnica y aplicación fueron el que hicieron mierda la voz de danny, osea que su tecnica no era la mejor, pero comparado con el de denis, suena mucho mejor. Pero si hablamos de vocalización, denis tiene una voz arrasadora en el oído de uno, si timbre, su forma. No digo que Danny tiene una mala voz, de echo es una voz increible, pero denis tiene una atracción mayor para la gran mayoria del publico que escucha los dos, asi como danny tiene un buen scream y gutural, más ahora que tiene una voz controlada y disciplinada, denis por su lado tiene una gran voz. Ojalas que estos dos cantantes den lo mejor de ellos para su publico, ya que pueden hacer grandes trabajos musicales.

Yes Denis is a beast! powerful vocals and stands out in his own way but, I have to give it to Danny because of him I began to listen to AA. Danny is why I'm such a huge fan. Nothing beats the original.

Everyone's talking shit about Danny for "not screaming and singing the words instead", are people for forgetting he completely shredded his vocals chords? I'm surprised he screams at all now and is still amazing at it! Also everyone always complains about how Danny changed his whole appearcence but everyone in the band changed? James doesn't have long hair, his stretched ears are sewn up . People change and you've gotta accept it. I don't think Dennis was a good fit cause the band was going one way with a sound from FDTD then he kind of reset it with 'the black '. They need to develop and evolve a sound otherwise they'll die out because they'll just sound the same. The evolution of the album's with Danny have been amazing , his solo stuff might not be for everyone but you have to still appreciate it and 'we are harlot' is similar to Asking with a more of a hard rock approach so I don't get why people dislike it so much. People just seem to dislike Danny because he doesn't wear black skinny jeans and extra small band t-shirts anymore. That was never always gonna be his thing. He always said he liked bands around hair metal and 80-90's rock and metal. He's trying to bring it back and reform it in a new way and I think it works.

I totally agree that bands should change their sound up over time. That was the problem with black sabbath, they never changed up their sound.

Either way doing screaming and having that strain on your vocal cords then going into clean vocals is still difficult and takes a lot of talent

I used to be all about Danny's voice but he's forcing himself now. Watch his Graspop performance from this year as an example, it was horrible. It looked very lazy and Danny didn't seem to give a shit at all. I know he's been touring for a few months now, he really needs to take a break. Damn. Because if his voice & stage presence stay like that, Denis needs to come back asap. Was so disappointed and also very glad that I didn't buy tickets to go see them there. And I've heard that their recent performances at other festivals weren't good either.

Stand Up And Scream was my favorite. I didn't really care for the rest much honestly. is it there best work? no. does it have to be your favorite? no. I downloaded a Demo from a band I'd never heard of (asking alexandria) from Limewire back in late 2008 or early 2009. What I heard blew me away, and would later become Stand Up And Scream.
