Look. The man is the sweetest fucking person you're ever going to meet. ESPECIALLY for being in prison, a former gang member and having his life threatened multiple times. It takes a real MAN, a HUMAN, someone with a HEART to still have faith and love for the community, rather than be bitter like so many people with that historical past would be. Any attack on him is really just out of line, and him defending himself should be praised and used as a lesson to others that you really should lay off people who are elderly, paid their dues to society multiple times over, and give us laughs in EVERY SINGLE MOVIE HE IS IN! The man is a fucking legend and icon and a Californian SAINT if there really ever was one. All of us can learn a lot from Danny. In how we interact, communicate, show love and honor and sense of community. There's no need to throw anything at him, even if it was in fun, even if it was a water balloon, even if it was hot, it's disrespectful to anyone - imagine your mother or grandmother or someone else you love and care about, maybe your kids are up there and adults are throwing things at them. Would that be acceptable behavior for you? For a sane rational person in society? Probably not. So why do it to Danny. Isn't he someones grandfather too? Would you want that done to yours?

My dad once told me “sometimes you dont have to win, you just have to fight.” It sucks having a vid out of you getting dissed with two water balloons, and then slapped around when you went to educate fools on why not to do that again. But that outcome is WAY better than you just staying in the car like a scared punk. Too bad crowd did not have anyone who knows how to protect 80 year old legends from 30 year old nobodys.

I'll never forget Trejo's face as his head sat on top of the turtle in Breaking Bad.

Danny Trejo , the same guy who made news for saving a person’s life vs jealous haters throwing water balloons. The people seem to be on Danny Trejo’s side. Good for him.

What people honestly fail to realize is Danny isn't just some citizen or an actor he's somebody and with connections. Something people here will fail to understand this. Danny being Danny probably help his attacker by dropping everything and moving on.

@@josephmayfield945 , you're wrong, of course. Danny did start the fight. I watched him do it. 700-800 people threw water balloons that morning and no one was arrested for doing that. No one was assaulted with water balloons at the parade. There was a reasonable expectation of getting by a water balloon and a distinct lack of malicious intent, so no assault. There was, however, no excuse for throwing punches, except in self-defense. Danny committed the only assault.

I met this guy, he was walking and I yelled at him Johnny 23 his character from the movie Con Air. I made him laughed, he’s really cool and humble. Like 5 minutes later people recognized him and he took pictures with everyone and signed autographs. As for those younger bullies, picking a fight with an 80 year old? I’m thinking they’re jealous they are not the ones in those old classics. A water balloon at someone and on top of that water on a classic like that. I would of raised hell…

It's terrible there's so much disrespect. Throwing anything at anyone is disrespectful. I feel badly for Danny Trejo and his friend. No man wants to be disrespected, humiliated and belittled, especially in front of many people. We need to be more respectful as a society. It's embarrassing that young man went after an 80 year old.
