What about and is that all Newcastle fans or can you differentiate that humans are different no matter who they support or where they live? As it happens I don't actually care what other fans think about Newcastle I just want us to try and to play decent football and maybe win something one day. True Newcastle supporters are realistic, we realise last season we played above ourselves. We understand that we need better players and a much more in-depth squad, which under the financial restrictions imposed on all premier league teams has resulted in a realistic time to start winning trophies and competing for the premiership title will take another 2 to 4 seasons. In the meantime we are generally enjoying knowing we will get there eventually.😊

    @@andyBbuckley we were already a midtable club mate. we were promoted in 2017. We finished 10th, 13th, 13th and 12th the season before the takeover. The season of the takeover and Howes first season that summer spent £25m in willock then another £100m in January. We finished 11th that season. So another midtable finish. So that's £125m to finish 1 place higher in the league. Since that 11th place finish we spent £300m. We're now back in 10th, possibly 11th place if Chelsea win their game in hand. Performances are abysmal and results are poor. Looks to me like we've spent all this money and haven't really progressed. Howe getting a free ride. If Bruce had gone to arsenal and wholloped 4-0 in that manner the fans would want him strung up. He had Gayle, hendericks, Hayden, Ciaran Clarke to work with. Bruno G should be playing the no. 10 ! He would be creating and scoring way more goals. His touch, technique and dribbling are elite. One of the best CM in the prem even without his midfield partners (tonali , willock, joelinton). Man is ranked one of the top in interceptions, ball recovery and ball retention , covers some of the most distance in games and still is making impacts with his vision and passing and late runs in the final third. Bruno is super athletic, what game are these guys watching? Sorry but Danny is talking utter nonsense how can you criticise Newcastle creating chances in that match? The issue wasn’t creating chances it was finishing chances. Realistically Newcastle had about 5 or 6 chances they should have scored from, they missed at least 2 or 3 sitters… so there’s a big difference between not creating chances and not finishing. The reason the game was as tight as it was comes down to one key issue… concentration, which resulted in defenders kept switching off and the composure to finish chances at the other end Newcastle did the hard work of finding plays to unlock the well organised Blackburn defence they just couldn’t hit a cow’s backside with a banjo last night

    Not so many years ago we had a phrase in football concerning lone strikers and that was "He needs some help up there." The formations now rarely allow for a strike partnership which I think is a very blinkered view. Two strikers or a striker and a target man never stopped working, it just went out of fashion. It's the same as the long ball or direct style. It's not pretty but I'm willing to bet it will return in some form very soon to combat the high press.

    Newcastle definitely need players, it's hard to judge Bruno fairly right now because the team is lacking depth. (due to injury and relatively short time after ownership takeover) I do think he occasionally get's reckless with his tackles, but without a better overall squad and given the number off minutes he's asked to play I think it's hard to judge his athleticism.

    I can see what Murphy is saying about Bruno because if you look at his physique he's one of those players who you could easily see putting on weight when he finishes playing. Then again though there are players who are or were unorthodox physically, but who are/were elite. Nobody would say that Modric is some incredible athlete as Danny describes them, but that hasn't stopped him from being an elite midfielder.

As a Villa fan, I know who I would rather be. • @jamesfretwell1511

    @jamesfretwell1511

    3 ай бұрын

    The reason we've dropped off so much is simple, its because we've had an average of 11 players injured across the season so far. Not just players that are squad players either, but players who make our first eleven every week. It's easy standing from the outside looking in, and thinking you could handle injuries of that magnitude, but no team could, the likes of city and liverpool would suffer badly with those injuries. For months there was a bench full of 16 year olds, and goal keepers, because we didn't have the numbers to make a bench. Just put that into perspective, its playing the same team every single week for the whole match (no bringing on players when tiredness creeps in). The chances are you will go through a similar thing next season, if you get champions league football, obviously not to our extent, because no other team at this level has had this many injuries throughout the season. We are slowly getting players back now though, so hopefully we can kick on and finish in a respectable position. Howe is a great manager, it's not just what he done last season, it's also how he saved us from a position no other club had ever stayed up, and got us finishing eleventh that season with a team that had all its confidence sucked out because of steve Bruce, and also getting us to a cup final in such a short space of time, anyone who thinks hes not a great manager, because of the last five weeks or so, needs their heads checked.
