I’ve been a big fan of Danny Kaye for over 50 years. This man was so talented it was unbelievable. Everything he wanted to do, he worked at until he was among the best in the world...He could sing, dance, act, cook, fly planes, conduct orchestras and paint. In between that he was an ambassador for UNICEF. He puts most celebrities today to shame. I loved his look, his voice and his smile. Love and miss you Danny Kaye. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I'm surprised it took the Academy so long to award Danny Kaye for his many years of humanitarian work. As he says in his acceptance speech, he had been working for Unicef for 28 years at that point (1982). He was involved with other organizations as well. To me, Danny Kaye is the model of what a humanitarian is and does.

Love him in anything he did. What amazing diversified talent he had. The things he accomplished is a credit to him and his love he gave to all. Did you know he also was an excellent pilot. The only kind of plane he didn't fly were military planes. I think he was wonderful.

I have always loved Danny Kaye. I remember watching one of his movies, and my aunt telling me she was upset that he lost his accent. I just looked at her and shook my head,. Then she told me that he and Red Buttons used to live down the street from my mom's family in Brooklyn, NY. When I was probing her for more info about that, she told me to send talk to my mom about it. Which I did, but my mom said she didn't remember.

That audience should have been on their feet. How I loved Danny Kaye for over 60 yrs when I was a little girl - Hans Christian Anderson. Most of the greatest talent, achievements in medicine, art, literature, Nobel Peace recipients, military heroes, masters of academia, inventions, helping the world was gifted to the world by the Jewish people. INCLUDING Mr. Kaye. I don't have to wonder what the audiences in the Oscar seats which we stopped watching over 15 yrs ago would say to that established fact.

What he said may have been true once in Hollywood, not anymore. They are a bunch of self righteous celebrities without a thought for anyone but themselve. 2020. Celebrities are a disliked bunch. Lecturing people on morals and how everyone should live. Style of the films has gone violence and immortality has replaced it.

As a kid George Carlin simply idolized Danny Kaye. He once waited alone at a Stage Door in the rain for an hour to ask for an autograph. He said Kaye brushed right past him without even an acknowedgement. Decades later Carlin said from then on he was always skeptical when he saw film or photos Danny Kaye romping and playing with children and that it appeared just a little too contrived.
