    I just discovered Danny Bhoy... and Bhoy is he hillarious!! Just love him.... can listen to him for hours. And as an Indian, it’s even funnier to listen to him in his Scottish accent. 😂😂

    He's not Scottish-Indian, he is just Scottish with some Indian ancestors.

    @@RR-pe5or Danny said he is half-Scottish on his mom’s side and half Indian on his dad’s side. Not “some” Indian ancestry. He was born “Danni Chaudhry”. “Chaudhry” is an Indian and Pakistani last name. Y’all need to do your research before you comment because it sounds racist to assume, “some ancestry” without gathering the facts.

  • @RR-pe5or

    @RR-pe5or

    @monac1504 You can only be born in one nation, that makes you one nationality only, and his is Scottish, not Indian, so he is not an Indian national, that therefore makes him a Scottish national, with some Indian ancestors, the 'some' in this sense being at least half (or at least of what he knows from most recent generations), meaning he has as much Indian ancestors as he does Scottish ancestors. And as he technically is an actual Scottish native national, this also collectively makes him British as well, because the Scots are a Northern British people. The Scottish nation makes up the Northern side of the island of Great Britain. This is also not comparable to some Yank from America who goes on about their 2% Scottish ancestors after taking a dodgy DNA kit from 23&Me (which is a popular Yank hobby in America that makes a lot of money for these insidious organisation collecting genetic data) and therefore believing this makes them as Scottish as the actual real Scots (the people of Scotland), because the ethnic Yanks are talking like 8 to 16 generations back on average before they can find a Scot on their tree who's native nationality was actually Scottish. These things do matter if you value accuracy and reality, as you can't be consistent in one area and not in the other, as then by your very own logic you wind up contradicting yourself.

    Like it or not, there is (currently) no such thing as a "Scottish national", any more than there is a "Texan national", "Friesan national", or "Punjabi national". And place of birth -- _jus soli_ -- is only one criterion for nationality. Parental nationality -- _jus sanguinis_ -- is another. And many people benefit from both (and more).

    @@philyates7670 Billy Connolly is the comedian against whom all other comedians are measured, and very very few come within a country mile of him. Asking if he's comparable to comedians who aren't Billy is like asking if he's comparable to second division comedians.
