Goes on to win three 5 setters in his first tournament of the year, two of them coming from 2-0 down. I hope he can recover, Sinner is definitely on fire but sometimes you get an adrenaline dump after climbing the mountain... It will be harder to pull some of those drop shots against Sinner too. Funny how everyone began talking about Zverev’s stat of “only ever lost a 2 sets to 0 lead at the 2020 US Open final” during the Alcaraz match, only for it to actually become relevant to this match. Thank you Meddy for saving this AO. Was rooting for a Sinner/Alcaraz final, but this would have been my second choice. This kind of matches show why this sport is very entertaining and incredible. Cause when you think there's already a winner (as it happened with Zverev when he was leading 2-0 in sets), in all of a sudden, you see that nothing is defined 'till the last point (reason why at the end Medvedev won in five sets). It was a big battle that already prepare all of us for what the big final gonna be soon.

  • @TheGreatDudist

Man. So much good to come from this tournament. I had doubts that Zverev would ever hit his peak again like he had before he got injured, but here he is. Medvedev back in the final after such a stellar comeback win. Must be an AWESOME boost to the confidence that only ignited the hunger. Sinner continuing his amazing push and breakthrough. I think we're going to have a great final. Meddy might be my favorite... but unfortunately I don't like his chances of beating Sinner. I saw the other semifinal match, and I don't think I've EVER seen anyone take it to Djokovic like that. Especially not in Melbourn. Whoever wins, I can't be upset. Absolutely well-deserved and well-earned on either end.

So happy for Meddy!! Coming back from two sets down is no easy feat. Tbh I really thought Alex was gonna beat him in four. Another thing is he’s really starting to improve his record in best-of-five, which is a really good thing! Wish them the best of luck against Jannik. As for Alex, it was really tough to sort of root against him since I’m a fan of his as well. But you have to pick one and I chose Meddy in this one. Still proud Alex made a deep run, I think he’s really back to form after his injury at the French. Keep your head up. It’s a long season 👏🏻. Wish you the best of luck the rest of the way.
