Tony Wakim not only sang the male lead in this, but he also made Rachael’s dress. He comes from a line of seamstresses and has been sewing since an early age. He does the costuming for Pattycake Productions, and occasionally VoicePlay. For example, he dressed VoicePlay for their Wicked medley. (Another extraordinary dress for Rachael, as well as extra long pants for Eli the giant and fancy circus wear for Layne and Cesar.)

@@christinestromberg4057 I agree. He has said that he doesn't regret the time he spent performing, but that he also doesn't regret giving it up to work behind the camera, so seems quite content to be working on 'the other side'.

One of the most underrated works by VoicePlay. Rachel's voice to reach down into alto range, while maintaining a mezzo presence is incredible.

Glad you pulled this one from way back! I didn't know notice before that Eli was on that harmony with Rachel. You can see him wide-mouthed in the way back behind her. If you looking for more VoicePlay, Nothing Else Matters (Metallica) is mindblowing and In My Room (Beach Boys) is like a warm hug.

Woot Woot! This one is often overlooked by the reactors. It's amazing to see where they were at this point and see where they go with Oogie Booie, Moana, the LIttle Mermaid, Wicked Medley, and We Don't Talk About Bruno. For a little fun, their Cheerleder is in a boy-band style. Queen in 5 Minutes is a must-see.

The Phantom here is Tony, nominally their baritone at the time; and this is easily the best thing VP ever did while he was with them. Other things you might have encountered from that era include First Noel, Road Trip, Chicken Song, and the Zombies vs Hillbillies collab with HF.

One of my favorites. I love every version on Phantom of the Opera. It's Tony Wakim who used to be a baritone for VP but wanted to get into production so he and Layne bought Pattycake Studios. A lot of VoicePlay's videos are done here as are quite a few of Geoff's solos. There are 2 live productions done during the Sing-Off era that are fun: Road Trip (make sure you get the one with 9 million) and the full Chicken Song where Tony plays the waitress ( do get the one with Tony)

Hi Danielle, congratulations. Thank you for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. There are two original songs by Voice Play that are little known to many. They are from 2015. They are...( Voice Play )One Minute Musical ( Miley Cyrus ) music & lyrics are by Geoff Castallucci & it is hilarious. also... ( Voice Play ) One Minute Musical ( Light Bulb ) music & lyrics are by Eli. Because they are short they both can be done in one sitting. Would you please please do a reaction video of them ? I have been begging all reactors to do them for the past two months & nobody will. I guarantee you will love them.

One of the biggest hints as to how old this is , is the fact Geoff has such short hair. One more great cover of this is from a singer called Birdy, I'll see if I can find this for you (it's on a Asian singing contest)

Wow. I had also missed this cover by VP. You can easily tell it's an older one since Earl is still there and J. None is not. I am immediately surprised by the lack of attention on Geoff, since so many of their newer videos tend to stress his extreme bass contributions. Thanks for reviewing this one or I probably never would have seen it. It is definitely a different take on The Phantom.

Another up-vote for “Nothing Else Matters”. It’s spiritually true to the original but they’ve made it their own, dramatic, dynamic, powerful, moving. Awesome solos and harmonies throughout. Watch carefully as the climax builds. I think you’ll like the way it ends, too. May I also suggest "Valhalla Calling” for some fantastic Viking vibes (pay attention to Eli). “Ghost Riders in the Sky" is a fantastic cover by Geoff. #Subscriptionsquad

I would love to hear your reaction to two different live performances, 1st one would be Distributed on the Conan O'Brien show doing a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" an exceptional must see performance I feel is better than the original song. The second would be the Righteous Brothers live on the Andy Williams show from 1965. Doing "Unchained Melody", pure talent, nothing added to enhance the sound, another must see performance. Both of these performance are well worth your time. Totally impressive talents you will enjoy.

Hello Danielle, remember when you said you'd love to hear 4th impact sing a more recent version of Bang Bang after reacting to their audition? A while after xfactor they did a longer version on the wish bus. It is much cleaner since they arent dancing around (they dance in their seats which shows their joy singing this) and of course you have the wish bus sound quality. I saw it years ago but it just popped up in my feed and the first thing i thought of was your request. It is really worth reacting to. kzread.info/dash/bejne/jIdsxrOAhNPVlKg.html

VoicePlay's arrangements are always slightly shocking in a way. A good way usually. There's only one that still bothers me a bit and that was If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, from Fiddler on the Roof. I still have trouble with the way they changed that one. Maybe it just meant too much to me. But virtually every other arrangement they've done I just love. As for creepy, have you seen their Once Upon A Dream. That is really creepy.

@@christinestromberg4057 I know, the first time I clicked on VP's version of If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, I clicked off right away, going, "Nope, that's just way too different from how I want the song to be sung". Probably because I am old enough to remember seeing/hearing Zero Mostel, Topol and Herschel Bernardi perform it. I finally made it though it and it does have a place on my 'listen to while doing my stationary bike' playlist simply because it's fast and rhythmic. If it's not a top fave for me, I do have to say that I like it better than Gwen's version (which I never heard until after watching VP's version). Same with this song, I really didn't like it much when I first heard it, but I do appreciate Tony and Rachel very much in it. I admire what they did with this song, but it's never going to be a top favorite for me just because the original song (and the whole score, if I'm being honest) was something that really touched my heart and blew me away.
