DANIEL ROMANO - "Värmland session" - Presented by Out On The Rise, October 9 2017

In collaboration with GAFFA.se we are thrilled to put this out there - it's our very own session video with "the king of mosey" Daniel Romano, in anticipation of the tour he will be embarking on in a few weeks. Read Gaffa's coverage here: gaffa.se/…/videopremiaer-vaerm...
This fall, Daniel Romano and his band have - again - spent a couple of weeks in a wooden cabin outside of Karlstad, Sweden. Here they've been writing some songs and getting prepared for the second leg of the tour in support of his new and critically acclaimed record "Modern pressure", which was recorded last year in this same beautiful location and out now on New West Records.

Have you gone through all of Daniel Romano's albums? He's got a bunch of them. Start at the beginning with Workin' For The Music Man.

Get his albums Modern Pressure & Finally Free. To me this is reminiscent of mid-late 70s Bob Dylan.

Oh Daniel , this is nice but but pleas , take back the Trilliums and make music like you did at the time from Sleep Beneath The Willow. Those are songs that give me tears in my eyes , that beautifull they are. Also your live performes at that time where so much better Anyway , I'm glad you did that ; you left the most beautifull songs with the Trilliums and I listen every day at them. Good luck with what you're doing now....

You may as well tell the wind which way to blow. This dude is seriously heavy, the real deal, and his output is consistently amazing.

@@jmax9 Well , being an americana/alt country fan I think it's not much what he is doing now. Change things for the change is not always a good choice.

@@Jef-sj6zc Sure, I understand - but I find the abums he's put out in the last three years to be astoundingly good, so I support his musical exploration. If you're pining for some of that older DR style I highly recommend checking out his "Content to Point the Way" record on Bandcamp, I'm sure you'd love it.

@@Jef-sj6zc I'm in Ontario and had never heard of him but was searching new country that sounded old and found him and boy was I ever happy. But I am a lover of all styles of music, music keeps me sane in and ever increasingly insane world and his music, almost all of it fits the bill for me. I would like to say to him if he were here, just make a few country records, you don't have to tour them and people like us would still be very happy.
